DSG problems

Featured Replies

I have a problem in the DSG Mechatronic Control Module it causes the gearbox to enter in safe mode at low speeds; the repair cost is around 2000 Euros

anyone had the same problem?

:(

How old is the car?

Also do you have more details of the problem code etc?

What is the 2000 Euro to replace and also if you had the car main dealer serviced did they do the required oil changes.

I know the oil changes are nothing to do with this but if the dealers are anything like some over here they may try that as a get out clause.

It’s a 2005 Octavia 2.0TDI estate with 130.000km

The 2000 Euros is to change the mechatronic unit, I don’t have the code but the car was always serviced in the official dealer

I'm afraid I can't help other than to say that I have heard of these failing before.

I'd be asking for a contribution from as the car is potentially still under 3 years old and you have had all the work done at their dealer network.

If you don't get any further then I'd be thinking about getting an independent to give you a price and then get the dealer to come closer to that price.

Good news from the dealer, they will pay for all the repairs in the gearbox
