Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I made a pimp engine cover today.

You like?

Sweet. I have a VW emblem on my engine cover too. It's controversial.

Nice. :) But I've not ran an engine cover for years, so pimped everything under it. :D

Very nice.Good looking:thumbup:

nice looking cover mate, top job

Be better with a Skoda badge.

Skoda's Rule!

That goes for people who stick Porsche badges all over their cars aswell.

If you want a Porsche/VW, go buy one.

Be proud of Skoda, there bloody good cars now.

Here here!! I was wary of them until I bought my Fabia vRS, i would not hesitate in getting another Skoda.

I wouldn't put that filth VW badge on my lovely Skoda:D

Ben

Do you have an ICE install in the boot as well? ;)

Would love a look at that, any pics? Or is it all top secret?! :)

I hear what your all saying, with regard to the VW badge and Skoda's being a good honest car now and I agree they are good.

However its mainly Skoda owners and maybe 10% of the rest of the population that think this. The other 90% of population still associate word Skoda with general amusement/ridicule/breaking down etc, convert half of the 90% to our way of thinking and the Skoda bagde goes back on.

Nowts a secret. :) Although I have since got rid of the alloy cap and plan to paint it. :) I also have a new water bottle as the one below was gunked up a bit. Basic visual mods are the polished IC pipe, painted camcover and cambelt cover, chromed fuel rail

Wow, Thats pretty damn impressive. Nice one! It's neither Skoda or VW... it's Devon-made.

Backpeddler, apologies for hijacking your thread! Just on the whole Skoda-VW thing... I think it's a good thing that the majority don't laud Skodas like we do. One of the great things about driving them is sitting there smug and knowing that they kick ***. I'm proud of the Skoda badge on my new Furby. As with most things styling related though, its so subjective. Plus I always shout for the underdog.

Nice job on the engine bay though.

Nice cover...shame about the badge....cant beat a bit of badge snobbery eh!!

Seems strange to put a VW badge on what seems to be a seat engine, well mine is any way

So having a Skoda badge on the cover is the same difference as having a VW one, if its a Seat engine?

The other 90% of population still associate word Skoda with general amusement/ridicule/breaking down etc....

Have you de-Skoda-badged (or rebadged?) the exterior too - ie. VW badges rather than Skoda on the boot & bonnet? Not seen that done before and that would be a statement or sorts... Given that most of that 90% won't see under your bonnet...

Looks smart though - like the carbon effect.

Cheers,

Stu

I can see your point mate, well made.

Just that while the engine is in the car, it a skoda engine.

But i'm not one to argue about another persons views or practises..

If thats what you are changing on the car or anything moddified it is only you who can do it..

I saw a Fabia Mk1 estate with BMW badges in place of the Skoda ones front and back. Had to do a double take when I saw it

Chris

Conversely, there is a focus that parks near my mother in law's house with a fabia badge on the back.

Hahaha...
