I think I'll cave in and buy that KDL-40D3500 as it's only 500 notes on special offer. If I don't want it, I'm sure someone else will buy it off me at that price :)

Your timing is impeccable dear sir.

I'm typing this after just returning to my desk from sticking the telly in the back of the car

Will let you know what it's like when I get it home, although I have a feeling I'll hang onto it after all

i hope it isn't broken when you get it home like mine was :(

Well, unpacked it and it looks ok.

Turned on, got a picture (from PS3) and started having a play. It does look very good, but as always, the initial settings are on "vivid" and it's like the 1970s on speed all over again :D

Once tuned to more natural colours, it's looking good

Hope you get a replacement soon, mate

Oh yeah, I remember you said that either you wanted it.

But it really would be inappropriate to give you a tv with such a shockingly bad picture :(

I'm breaking her resistance slowly :D:D

Haven't noticed any ghosting, but then again, only tried a HDMI input from PS3.

I remember reading up about some ghosting and ringing around high contrast areas, almost like of of those godforsaken "sharpening enhancements", but IIRc, that was for component input and possibly RGB.
