hi this is my first post. just recently brought an octy ambiente estate first registered sept 04. is this car a mk1 or mk2 can somebody tell me please.

Being a September 04, it is a facelifted Mk1 Octavia Estate .The Mk2 Estate came out a little later.

I think the finger might have been mistaken for a wave. I have a 1920 x 1200 monitor and it can be very hard to tell if it is indeed a finger on it. Well I hope it was a mistake.
