Buying an Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi

Im currently looking for an 03 onwards VRS estate. I have recently found one but after some discussion I have found that the current owner has increased the turbo boost to 12psi by modifying the actuator in some way.

Does anyone have any idea what modification this is and if its safe? He can put the car back to standard for me but im just wondering if I should steer clear or not?

Many thanks

Chris

Possibly by changing the adjustment of the threaded bar on the actuator. YOu should be able to reset it if that is the case.

There are plenty of MK1 vRS about so you should keep looking for a mint one.

Thanks for the tip!

Im going to take a look at the car at the weekend. I have been surching the net for a specific VRS buyers guide with no luck. Any idea where I might find one?

Alternatively has anyone got any tips in what to look for and how to check? Especialy if the turbo is healthy or anything to look out for engine wise appart from the usural noises from cold, black smoke or sludge in the water bottle.

Any suspension niggles to look for?

Many thanks

Hope to be a VRS owner very soon! :)
