Hello,

I have just bought an 02 Octavia L & K Estate. Lovely car but soon after getting home and on my first drive out the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. Very alarming and I would have thought dangerous. Managed to pull over and move the pedal back by hand. This has now happened 4 or 5 times in the first week. The dealer suggested just pulling up the pedal with my foot if it happens again. Any ideas? Is this a common problem. The car has over a years warranty.

It would seem to be a common problem. Several here have had the same problem. As your car is still under warranty it should be fixed. Checkout this thread

Clutch master cylinder. Mine needs sorting too.

However this is the first time i've heard of it happening "in use" rather than after being parked up for the night. I think it's also the first warm weather report.

Hi, John. My 2002 4X4 had the clutch master cylinder replaced under warranty recently because of the pedal sticking. It's a known fault and the clutch master cylinder has been modified to fix it.
