Just taken my beloved vRS to white dove in cardiff.

Problems: squeek from radiator.

loud knocking from behind the engine.

loud squeek from centre mount of exhaust.

took car in on friday and said ill take the mec out on test drive to demo the symptoms. waiting in the mitsubushi place and looked up to see my car bomb past. went out to wait. fella came back and said he found nothin. i demonstrated the radiator to him and he had some douts to the severity of what I could hear in the cabin. he put it on the ramp and made an "adjustment"(not covered by warranty) and put car back in carpark. (I am still waitin) went outside after 40-50 mins later, found car, went in to see what is goin on? said what they did to radiator and there was a charge of £34(1/2 hr charge):eek: not a chance they didnt even look at the zorst for the squeek and the knock so the head mec came out and i showed him where I thought it was broken. he then changed his mind and we went round the block and finaly the knockin came and he heard it loudly!

he tried blamin my CAI but it dunt move at all due to me makin sure.

went back at end of day and the found the prob: checked all suspention(fine)

checked zorst and found the centre bracket was broken. there are 4 spot welds were the bar bolts across that had broken. still not fixed but said they have emailed skoda to see if it is covered by warranty?

Is it? does anyone know?

congrats if you still awake at this point. has anyone any ideas?

The middle exhaust mount seems to be a problem,mine broke and have seen a few others on here with the same problem. I clamped the bracket back on with jubilee clips,and worked well,but it was an excuse to get a new Jetex system fitted.

Had mine welded once, will go for the jubilee clips next!

Had mine zaust welded at quick fit for £15.

Mine was out of warranty and Skoda wanted £300 to replace the centre section as they wouldn't weld it.

The rad mounts were done under warranty.

common problem, i welded mine back on, and have since used 2 exhaust clamps and made up bracket as owner didnt like me welding under car.

i was quoted for new exhaust at £300

£300 for the centre section, classic!
