fabia central locking problems

Featured Replies

My 2yr old Fabia Elegance has an intermittent fault where it locks all the doors for no apparent reason in cold weather. The first time one cold morning I unlocked the door got in started the engine got out to clear the window of ice and the door swung shut and immediately locked leaving me outside unable to swich the engine off. Since then when the weather is icy there have been occasions when although the car unlocks with the remote it locks again after 2 seconds and before I can open the door. Each time I unlock it it locks itself straight away even if I get in. This fault is only present in temperatures below freezing and dissapears when the car warms up, any ideas ?

I've got exactly the same problem.

The car's in the dealers Wednesday for a new door catch.

Only thing is, the temperature is now up to about 10 degrees outside & it's not doing it anymore. If it doesn't get really cold again I'm not going to know if this has fixed it or not!

The car's got a year left on the warranty so hopefully it'll get cold enough again. (I live in Cornwall & we only had one frost here last winter).
