Interferance on TV

Featured Replies

In our back room we have a Telly to which Sky and a Video are connected. All the scarts are are fitted in the correct places and are new/gold plated and the picture on the tv is good. In the front room I have a Tv to which a Video and DVD are connected, again the scarts are in the right places and are new/gold plated and the picture is good. I have run a Quality cable from the sky box in the back room to the Tv in the front, this enables me to watch Sky in the front and I can change the channals on sky by usuing a Magic eye/mouse thingy. If someone in the back room is watching sky the picture in the front has Interferance on it regardless of which channal,BBC1/ITV etc etc or sky is being watched. if the Tv in the back is off the picture in the front is perfect. The Interferance is like faint vertical lines moving across the screen from left to right.......Anyone any Idears!!! I thought may be the cable between the Tv's was long enough to make the signal weak but the picture is ok when the Tv in the back is off...........Very confusing  ( hope it all make's sence )

is it not the Sky signal which is too weak ?

i thought you needed 2 LMBs on the dish to run 2 TVs, or is that only when you want to use separate channels

Hi, is the VCR in the back room left switched on for all of the time? If it is being this, try turning it off to see if the lines on the front room TV go away.

It is just t he idea.

Soviet:rolleyes:

I can only get the same sky channals in both rooms, it's not multi-room for which you need 2 LMB's..video turned off in back room

Try disconnecting pin 19 on the SCART lead attached to the telly in the back room.

SCART pin out here:

SCART pinout

Just check you get the right pin as diagrams of course can be viewed from the front or rear of the connector. Most SCART lead connectors have at least pin 1 if not all of them numbered in the plastic.

HTH

(BTW My thinking is that the back room telly is outputting a video signal as it loops back causing trouble to the front room one)
