New Battery - Code?

Featured Replies

My battery's been playing up and I think it's time to change it. I'm going away tomorrow afternoon so I decided to just go to Halfords (probably not the cheapest I know but it's convenient) at lunchtime before I set off.

Anyway they said to have my battery code ready but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have any idea where I'll find it? I have no documentation for the stereo (it's the original Skoda 6 CD Autochanger) so I can't find the code for that either. Would the two be the same or are they completely different codes? I don't fancy 150 miles in silence!

It's a 2001 Y reg 1.8T Elegance in case that helps.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

If it's the radio that the car left the factory with, it will code itself. Switch the radio on and start the engine and it should be OK.

Really? That's excellent then!

And is that definitely the only code they could be talking about? There's no other codes that I'm unaware of that you would need when the battery has been disconnected?

You might have to reset the one touch windows, do this by winding them to the top and holding the switch for a few more seconds.

Basically though, an Octy should sort out all its own immobiliser and radio codes the first time you put a key back in it.

Draper do a little gadget that does away away with all this palava.

It's never let me down yet. Computer Memory Save with own power supply.
