Effects of air temp?

Featured Replies

As we seem to have entered the 2nd winter of the year, i've noticed that my car is noticeably louder when it's cold (below 10 degrees). Almost to the point where i'd say it's rough and revving it sounds like it's in pain.

2 weeks ago it was smooth, quiet and loved to be revved. Now it growls and is a little more 'diesely'.

Anyone else noticed this?

Noticed it too. Was beginning to think I was hearing things!!!

Wondered if the change over to summer diesel had happened at the pumps and that was causing the noise, seeing as it is still cold?

Yes i have noticed with mine that the colder it is the rougher it sounds. But when milder its quiter and heats up quicker. But i find with mine its a very temperature sensitive engine.Sometimes good and then completely ****.

Cool. Was beginning to think i had a prolem.

I've never owned such a fussy car. Too cold and it's rough, too hot and i get turbo lag.

Yeh mines also like that. I take it very easy in the morning when she is warming up, she really sounds like she is in pain if you take her past 2,500 RPM when its cold - its horrible.

Sometimes likes the cold then not likes hot then not all flat and lifeless. What a stupid retarded engine!!!! Bloody MAF,s:rofl:

I had no issues since de-catting it.
