My vRS's 1st trip to the 'ring tomorrow!

Featured Replies

Pic tures look awesome... what sorta time were you lapping in the VRS? Is it completely standard powerwise?

is the track open weekdays? and is it quieter?

Yes it is open midweek, but usually for short periods of time. Tues/Wed/Thurs are significantly quieter, thus allowing for far better quality time around the track.

I'd go as far to say that, 2-3 hours midweek are as valuable as a whole busy weekend, once you take track traffic, queues and closures into consideration. You do of course miss the 'busy' atmosphere, which IMO is part of the Ring adventure.

Another option is going mid Oct to mid Nov when the track is far far quieter, but with the increased chance of bad weather. A crowd of us have been late in the seaon for about 5 years now and we always manage to get at least some dry laps, some with the track almost to ourselves.

Video 2: Me driving 4 up in the Skoda playing with mates in the wet (very slow!). We had to track to ourselves. Wait for the final driveby!

YouTube - Nurburgring - Octavia vRS vs. Evo VIII & Focus

About 11mins I think, wasn't really looking as you have to be pretty focused. It's just like the perfect country lane really!
