vRS Lowering Kit - Bump Stops

Featured Replies

Quick question to anyone who's fitted the pukka Skoda lowering kit (comprising I believe, Eibach springs and dampers) as shown here:

?koda Accessories

The pic, which I realise is for illustration only, shows the kit as including a pair of replacement bump stops (not sure if they're front or rear). My questions are:

1) Did your kit include new bumpstops?

2) If yes, were they for the front or rear?

3) And if yes, any idea of their part number?

Cheers!

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question but IMHO you'd be better of with Koni FSDs as opposed to the Skoda dampers.

You'll see from my sig that I already have them! Just interested to find out if Skoda are recommeding shortened bump stops. Had a few complaints from rear seat passengers of car sickness (when they've never suffered before). Feels like the rear suspension is thumping on the bump stops at speed...

Slow down then :)

Remember your springs are now shorter and with two adults over the rear axel there is very little room for spritied riving over undulating stuff.

Did see that, although after I'd written my post; could have been for a 'new' car.

Interesting point.

I hear what you say Chris, but shortened stops would increase spring travel and may reduce bump thump.

Potentially...

Typically, rear bump stops tend to be about 5cm or so in length. you could cut them down a bit more. After all, they are only a foam based rubber compound.

When JKM swapped mine over from std they must have used the OEM stops, as the old dampers came back without them. Other kits I have fitted in the past NEVER come with rear stops as you use the existing ones. Front dampers tend to have internal stops these days.
