4x4 brakes

Featured Replies

is it possible to put vented discs on the back of my 4x4 still using the orginal calipers or will i need new calipers to have vented rear discs??

The calipers are fine, but other parts do need changing. Have a search, I (and others) have posted on this in the past.

cheers si, am off to look right now

You cant use the original calipers for the rear.

Solid calipers will not be wide enough to go over the thicker discs.

You will need vRS calipers, carriers, discs and pads.

Oh dear, it seems I was talking poo. Sorry. :o

IIRC, Ross, you recommended getting the parts from a scrapped 4motion golf or TT as they would fit the Haldex system better than vRS parts?

S/Hand rears off a RS / Audi TT should cost about

Indeed, any part can be made to fit but if you get the 4 motion/quattro rear carriers they will bolt straight up. The calipers are the same on any 4 wheel drive though.

These are TT ones (you wouldnt need the spacers though)
