Featured Replies

When upgrading to 312mm on the fabia vrs do you need new calipers as well or just carriers discs and pads?

Yes (new calipers).

You'll need -

Left brake caliper housing 1U0 615 123 - £109.70

Right brake caliper housing 1U0 615 124 - £109.70

Brake disc (ventilated) 8N0 615 301 A - £131.46 Pair

1 set: brake pads with wear indicator for disc brake 1J0 698 151 M - £79.10

Brake carrier with pad retaining pin 1U0 615 125 - £182.01 Pair

It is advisable to use the longer Octavia vRS/Audi TT brake hoses when fitting the kit -

Brake hose 1J0 611 701 G - £36.00 Pair

:iagree:

I make that £647.97.

Screw that.

Im getting mine for £150.

TT hoses too?? /\

Not essential but recomended.

or have a look in the for sale section for some pretty porsche brakes....

Or eBay for some Mk4 R32 brakes - if you want to be different. I'm picking myself up a set this weekend. Really excited. :D

Question on all this Is it worth doing and there is no mention of the rear brakes there or am I missing something I have heard they dont do much the rears anyway, but would it not look a bit odd having just the front done,

Yes it looks a bit odd, ive queried this.

They are a good mod, most thats needed imo are the 312's.

Brembo's if you running stupid power!

Heres a pic showing my weedy back discs to my nice 312's

That looks tidy but see what you mean on the size,

I know, posted on another forum and they said front brakes look ace but you need to sort the rear drums out:thumbdwn:

Brembos for the win ;)

A rear upgrade kit will be available soon from a UK company. I am having it designed to go with my Brembo 4 pot fronts. :-)

Hi lummox

Nice caliper like it lots but do ther fit under the 16" alloys like the 312's do or do yo have to go to 17" wheels?

With the Brembo set up you will need 17's and possibly spacers (i think) depending on what wheels you have. That is why i went for 312's as they fit under the standard vRS wheels - well that and the price :)

If there for a Fabia Vrs, Do you need the Brake Pad with the wear Indicators ?????

No you don't but they come on the pads anyway so you just snip them off.

I have simply quoted the full VAG description for completeness.

Do R32 brakes fit under 17" 's ?

If so, i may sell my 312's.

Thanks, Dave

From what i heard the 312's offer 90% of the brembo performance for a fraction of the price, and at the end of the day 312's are more than enough for ANY fabia - Maybe bar Devonutopia's one but they would even suffice on that

Depends on how much you pay for the Brembos ;)

I doubt they will, I think 18's are required for an easy margin.

312s are good, but "90% of Brembo" is perhaps a little optimistic. The feel of 4 pot braking is something else compared to twin pot.
