Video editing software

Featured Replies

Can anyone suggest a simple (and preferably free to download) video editing programme that I can use to edit clips and music in. It needs to be able to cope with camera phone and camera video.

oh..

and also needs to work on Windows 2000

If you just want to do cuts and no fancy fades, you can try virtualdub which is a great little free app.

I just use Windows movie maker. :) Standard in Windows XP and produces good enough clips for me. :)

Up till now I've used Win Moviemaker for my camcorder but I've got some .mov footage from my digicam (camera video mentioned in the OP) I want to tweak and becasue its quicktime, windows don't like it.

Anyone know of a free, simple tool for this?

Is Avid a freebie these days?

Only reason i ask is because seams like everyone who i know edits video on a PC uses it

If nothing else you could convert the *.mov file to avi using this

Freeware programs (YouTube Free Video Downloader, Free Uninstaller, Lame Front-End, Tik-Tak, PEInfo, WinInfo...) - Jacek Pazera

Freeware MOV to AVI

Briefly tried another of his freeware proggies - MP4 to AVI (quality was so so - but I think that was down to my settings and maybe also I should have selected Double Pass on the encoding)
