OctyI VRS Front Mount Intercooler

Featured Replies

Hi there!

I have a doubt, if any of you could explain me...

Is the Vrs 1.8 turbo motor positioning the same as the Audi A4 B6 1.8Turbo (year 01-04)? Because i found a frount mount intercooler kit for Audi A4 B6 (and also for the B5 model, but the B5 model the motor is tranversal, right?) and it looks like to me that's the same fitting...I tried to search for imagens and tecnicals but didn't found anything...

The Kit is this one!

Will that fit my Octy 1.8T Vrs???

Or is this one? (Audi a4 1.8t B5 model, i guess this don't fit, it's for transversal motor)

No one can tell witch one of these kits fit the 1.8T VRS???

Hmm, the Forge one has input and output on the same side, which makes sense given the OEM location

Yes, i saw that already...

But i already found VRS with intercooler with oposite input and output...

I guess the only way is to open the hood and that a look at it!:D

O haven't done that already because it is beeing painted...I will have to wait. i guess...But i guess the B6 model fit...

There's quite a few engine pics on my website if that helps :)

Pimp My Skoda!

I thought the A4 was a completely different setup to the vrs. Isn't an intercooler made for the golf a more likely fit?

Have a look at the ABD Racing ones, they fit straight on without any problems, and they do what they are supposed to do.

Cannot fault mine.

I tought the A4 was more like the Vrs because the engine bay size ans engine positioning. I tought the Golf was smaller...Someone told me that the TT kit's also fit's...

And like i'm buying from internet, it's a kind of trouble if it doesn't fit. Well, the pipes are a minor problem i guess, because i can get new ones! my father in law can built me one in stanless stell, but as i'm paying, if i get all the kit complet without problem would be more likely!;)

I think you are going to need to use the search button on this one.

Good luck and let us know which fits.

Buy something thats designed for the job. end of.

It'll cost you more in the long run to buy something thats not right.

The ABD, Forge, Pro Alloy and the ones I do are all designed for the job at hand.

FYI, the Octavia engine bay is based on the Golf mark 4, not the Audi A4.

A4 and Octavia are totally different

so is the Golf to the Octavia , you need a dedicated kit fit for the car .

I have the forge ic and find it an excellent bit of kit, fitment is very easy too and although some people say its too big for the standard turbo i can't say i've noticed any pressure loss or lag because of it,can highly recommend there kit

Octavia has a transverse engine, the Audi A4 has not.

Octavia, TT, Golf a.s.o. are the same in basics. The A4 and Passat are larger.

I tought the A4 was more like the Vrs because the engine bay size ans engine positioning. I tought the Golf was smaller...Someone told me that the TT kit's also fit's...

All A4's are longitudinally mounted so the turbo is in a different place pointing the other way.
