Wet Patch.

Featured Replies

Now that I have your attention. :) I've a '04 vRS Estate and recently noticed a wet patch on the boot mat. Closer inspection revealed dampness on the left hand side boot floor and in the "void" where the CD changer is located.

Rear washer is a dribble. I wonder if there is a connection? Does anybody know where the washer tube runs through the rear of the car and how to get at it?

It may not be this of course but it's a starting point.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Cheers.

I 'think' there are issues with the water in the pipes goingto the rear wash freezing over winter. This causes the pipe to split / burst / disconnect the next time you try to use the rear wiper.

There's a thread about it somewhere.

Your right on track mate.

The washer jet pipe is near the CD changer.

Just pull the carpet back from there and you will see it disconnected. Its happened in mine before so shouldn't be nothing more than a disconnected pipe

Just been out. Can't see it anywhere. I have the CD changer and loads of wiring loom. No sign of a pipe. Ta anyway.

Look further up mine was halfway up the panel not near the changer.

I dont know exactly where it is in the estate as i have the hatch

Ta Ric. Good advice, as is Matt's. Just can't find the bloody pipe!

Right! I'll get in the boot again.

I'll have to keep an eye out for you around town and give you a wave

The pipe is lashed up inside the wiring loom, and it probably right under underneath the CD changer. Fortunately I have taken my CD changer out, so it is much easier for me to check the pipe joint.

Shame you weren't about earlier mate ;).

Just sorted. Found the little beggar - didn't think they'd put a water pipe next to electrice pipes! It took ages but eventually managed with long nose pliers and by sacrificing most of the skin on my left little finger.
