Aircon Service

Featured Replies

I was at my local Skoda dealer the other day and noticed on a board behind the service desk prices for an Aircon service, Aircon re-gas and a special price if you have both done. Can't remember the exact price but I think it was just shy of £80.

What I'm wondering is- what does an aircon service actually include, how often its meant to be done (I know mine had an aircon service back in 2005) and if its best to get it done at a dealer or is it something pretty much any garage can do for less money?

TIA :)

Kwik-fit do the same thing for £45

I had it done a few weeks ago.. the machine measures the pressures, and amounts of oil and refrigerent in the system, sucks it all out.. pressure tests it and then refills with the right amount.

Its all done via machine so i wouldnt pay over the odds for a dealer to do it

Thanks for the info.

So it looks like the "service" part is mainly to stop any smells which mine doesn't seem to have. Also from what you guys have said the lubrication part (the bit I was most keen on being done) is actually part of the re-gas procedure not the aircon service.
