I have owned a 2.0 litre DSG Hatch for about 1 year and am generally very happy with the car.

A observation though, the gearing seems quite low in the lower gears especially. I wonder if those of you with the same engine but manual could comment on their observed speeds through the gears.

Mine would show on the speedo, revs on the red line 4,500 rpm:

25mph 1st

42 mph 2nd

65 mph 3rd

90 mph 4th *

120 mph 5th * * estimate

150mph 6th ** ** if rocket attached !!

They seem about right. I used to short shift from 1st into 2nd and use the torque.
