Silver wing mirrors

Featured Replies

Not sure this has been asked before but didn't come up on a search.

What would you think about silver wingmirrors ala Audi S/RS cars or Leon FR. I liked them on my previous FR but would it suit an Octy VRS?

Anyone good with photoshop :D

Look at a Polo Bluemotion, they have silver covers and share the mirrors with the Octy 2. There was one in the car park next to me, I was tempted to do a swap :D

I think they would look OK on a black car with a de-chromed grille and 18" S-Line alloys

Not a big fan of the chrome ones, more the brushed ally look but i'm still not 100% on the look in general.

I'm not keen on them :thumbdwn:

Sorry meant to be more specific, chrome ones are a bit too bling but brushed ally or even the matt silver colour on the FR.

Thanks for the pointer on the polo. I'll take a look:) I might have a quick phtoshop play first though.

A guy who lives near me has had his mirrors painted matt silver. It's red and i think it looks rather good. Have been tempted to do it myself. May try and get a picture if he dosen't mind.

If anyone goes down this route can they please post pics, as I've always liked them on Audi's. I think the chrome mirrors would look good with the chrome grill surround.

Wouldn't mind gloss black ones on mine :rubchin:

They would be lost on my black Combi :D

I'm debating the matt silver covers, I might risk a quick swap with the Bluemotion I park near and get a few picces :rubchin:

So all of a sudden chrome mirrors are cool. Tell people Rover 75's had 'em and maybe not so cool anymore.....

I personally don't like them, think they look cheap, completely opposite to the perception I guess they are supposed to be giving out?

Chrome is a personal taste thing but they would match the grill. I do think Audi S and RS cars look very cool with the mirrors though. It makes a feature of them as opposed to just being part of the bodywork.

It also makes some sense that the top of the range sport models in the VAG group kind of are related a bit. I'd be very interested to see some pics :)

My mate when buying an S3 had them swapped for normal colour coded ones. I'm in that camp too. :)

Hmmm would match my B-pillar covers nicely...

Would be fine on a silver car!!!!!

Not a fan of either silver or chrome wing mirrors.

P.S. My 100th post- Yipeeeeeeeee

Another :thumbdwn: from me. They have Barryboy written all over them - even on something like an RS4. Base models have black plastic ones, higher-spec models have body-coloured ones. End of...

How big is that pic!

The official description is "massive".

A resize would be appreciated.

When I was considering buying an Audi A3 instead of an Octavia I found a Forum where there was a lot of discussion about where to get cheap chrome covers for the mirrors as apparently they get stolen too often.

(Just over 2 hours to go before I'm [hopefully] the proud owner of a new 1.4TSI Elegance :))

No, No and No. Chrome / silver mirros look naff.:thumbdwn:
