Hi Everybody Need Help Please

Featured Replies

Hi Everybody, I Am A Lady Skoda Driver And I Am Useless With Cars. I Have A 5dr Fabia 1.2 O3 Model And I Absolutely Love It To Bits. However I Am Having A Little Problem Today And Having Not Got The Handbook Yet Dont Know What It Means. I Was Wondering If Any Of You Lovely People Could Help Me Please. This Morning When I Got To Work I Noticed The Spanner Sign On Which I Know Means It Needs A Service, But When I Got In To Come Home It Was Flashing Up With The Word Oil Where My Resettable Mileage Normally Is. I Checked The Dipstick When I Got Home And Found It Didnt Need Oil And The Oil Sign/light Is Not On. Also Does Anybody Know The Price At Skoda Dealers For A Service For My Car. Thanks Folks, Hope You can Help.

Hello and welcome. Yep sounds like your car needs a service. Of course you don't have to have it serviced at a skoda dealer if it's not under any warranty period. Service cost will depend on the mileage/age. May need cam belt for example. But being an 03 plate this is probably not needed.

The best way to get your answer is to post in the fabia section.

thanks captain scarlet thats very helpful, i bought a 2 year warranty with the car from evans halshaw which used to be reg vardy but having not been happy with the treatment i received from them at the time i thought i would go to skoda dealer for service. I didnt receive any service history, handbook or anything else like that from them and constant nagging for a while after did no good neither. But on the bright side the clock only has 32000 miles on it now and i have had it for a year at the end of june. The treatment i myself and my aunt got from evans halshaw was appalling. Do you know if this spanner and oil sign will affect my mot which is getting done next week. thanks again for your help

I wouldn't think it will effect the MOT. The cam belt is usually done at around 60 000 miles or 4 years.

If you do take it to a dealer it's probably worth asking them to see if they can tell if the cambelt has been changed, or maybe access it's service history.

Sorry to hear of your troubles when you got the car. You'll get better treatment here. But definately try a search in the fabia thread, should bring up a lot of info.
