I dunno about goodness! :D

Well, today I spent around 10 minutes with thinners on a couple of places where there had been some overspray. Still, what the hell. :D Came off easy enough, plus it proved a good cutting agent to clean my screen properly, to provide a good clean base for another application of aquapel.

PS: If the handle removal is so easy, in the long run I shall get some off a scrapper, and do it properly DIY. Having never done a handle removal, it scares me a little.

thinners

Near paintwork?

Good on ya going for it... there's only one way to find out eh?

It is, take the bung out of the end of the door, slowly wind out the torx screw inside whilst holding the handle out a little until the screw stops (note gently). Then the lock barrell or blanking plate will slide out. note the position of the bowden cable on the back of the handle and pop it out with a small screw driver.

then the main handle slides backwards and out.

how much do those handles retail at does anyone know?

seriously considering getting some if theyre only a tenner or so each, as the black handles really let the car down IMO

even on a black car!

worse case is you drop the screw in the door if you keep unscrewing it lol which is a pita

Thats why I said take it gently, the idea is to stop when you feel resistance.

i cant make my mind up whether to get mine painted or not??? mmm so you can take them of i didnt think you could can you access the screw that is holding them on from the outside cheers thanks

Its on the edge of the door.

The Mk4 Golf I recently changed the window regulator on had a stop for that screw?
