First Fault

Featured Replies

Well, It's only taken 6,000 miles for something to break, aside from the really annoying issue of vibration up my windscreen the car has now developed a problem!

When sitting and idling (In N or D) the revs keep randomly dropping maybe once a day or so, sometimes going as low as 400RPM. Car feels like it is going to stall but picks up at the last second,

I ran a scan with VAG-COM and there's no fault codes on the engine, which is what the dealership will no doubt tell me. Are there anythings I can check that are obvious?

Something similar happens on my 06 Fabia when its in neutral. I read somewhere on here that it might mean a dirty throttle body. (?)

Hei,

Did you find the cause of your problem? I am having some similar issue the revs drop to 500 (sometimes 400) RPM and then goes up to 1100RPM

I went back to dealer and, or course, they didn't find anything ...

Thanks

Not just over reacting to say, the fan cutting in or the air-con coming on and making the revs drop?

Nope, it happens with air-con on /off or just fan on/off and only when stoping at the traffic lights ... goes up and down for few seconds (sometimes minutes) untill stabilizes at the end somewhere around 700RPM.

What also I observed is if I give it more fuel when this happens and release it the engine revs are not dropping as usual but slower
