miss-fire with Revo stg 2

Featured Replies

Has anyone had this problem, a miss-fire on cylinders 2 and 3 under load, it does not happen with the chip switched off.

Have changed coil packs (under warranty)for 2 and 3 but still there!

Had the fuel pump mod done and re-mapped stg2+.

What settings are you running?

I know you can have Stage II+ if you ask but I didn't think it wa on general release yet.

Hmmm :rubchin:, I'd be interested in the outcome of this one. I've had mine on Stage II+ for some time now with no issues at all (touch wood), in fact it goes like stink :P

Sorry a bit misleading there, it is not on stg2+ but a modified stg 2, the Revo dealer was going to talk to Kev today, not herd back yet.

Not sure what settings it is on but will find out.

settings are 6 timing 6 boost and 4 fuel

Were they set up like that on rollers or with VAG-COM logs? Settigs seem a little wayward to me.

Feck me, fuelling needs to be upped imo at least to 8! I'd try standard REVO setting of B6 T5 F9 tbh.

Edit: What other 'extras' do you have, may help identify a problem if there is one!

Those settings do look a little strange.

Timing 6 is a little too high and fuel 4 is nonsense.

As has been said above, how was this setup?

Rather than risk any further damage I would select the performance 1 option on your select or select plus and see how that runs.

That should be B6-T3-F9.

Problem sorted.

Spark plugs were slightly out on gap so changed for new ones and miss-fire went away.

Set up on the road with vag-com and revo, now runs like a train, can get wheel spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd in the dry, if your really trying !!

Current settings that suit my driving requirements are

T4 B8 F6 running a steady 1.4 bar boost.

It looses out slightly on top end but really punches out of corners and bends like never before.

Miltek down pipe, custom quad exit exhaust, forge DV.

Good stuff, glad you sorted it

As far as I know the fuel setting does not make a difference on these cars.

Not sure, but have been led to believe

it does when you have the fuel pump mod done and running higher boost pressure or you can get fuel cut as the pressure cannot keep up with demand.

REVO advised that lowering the fuel 'number' made the mixture more rich and was beneficial when using the Fuel Pump.
