Need discs and pads for mk1 vrs

Featured Replies

Any good places pattern or Skoda parts??

Advice please

Thanks

loads of people use mintex from ebay... apparently they are pretty good

If your happy with your current set up then get the OEM replacement one for GSF.

If you want a better set the ive currently got Tarox G88 discs and DS2500 pads which are top notch so far

Check the dealer price before rushing down to GSF as there is some pretty agressive pricing for common 'service' parts at the moment.

genuine manufacturer for skoda is TRW Lucas and Teves for the front and rear, TRW can be bought from any unipart (partco) parts centre or a local car parts supplier. teves are a wee bit harder to get in uk but if they dont have them they can most likely order same day especially if FPS is a supplier to them in your area.

The discs p/no is DF4064

The pads p/no is GDB1403

rear Pads are O/e to skoda factory and are TRW lucas which are GDB1416 (gdb1330 are chamfered and fit also)

Rear discs p/no DF4065

TRW lucas are made on the same line at factory but obviously they have TRW p/no for the aftermarket so you get exactly the same item but in a red TRW box not vag box.

Hope this helps

I went the GSF route for my rear discs.

Skoda quoted £83.90 for a pair of Geomet rear discs.

GSF quoted £57.58 for a pair of Zimmermann rear discs.

Get some Mintex Xtreme pads from GSF while your there for a bit of extra performance.

When it comes round to replacing the front discs I'll be going back to GSF and getting either the Zimmermann or Brembo (if i have the cash at the time).

good luck with mintex pads try ferodo ds2500's and for discs look on vw spares as there very cheap on there.

My work doesn't deal with gsf but that price is in my opinion slightly ott as not a quality oe brand but atleast your brakes will work.

Does anyone know if the Mintex pads come with the electronic wear indicator? Thinking of getting Mintex pads and discs for the ring in the summer.

the mintex xtreme pads do. not sure about normals
