Thought ad just say hiya to all. Am not new to skoda, i had an Octavia 1.9 TDi saloon, but due to the above average mileage i sold it to the MRS and bought a newer Octavia Estate 1.9TDi for myself. I can hear the comments now, SOLD it to the wife! why not give her the car. Well i have gave her everything for the last 26 years, but NOT MY CAR ;)

Hello and welcome.

Hello :)

Hello and welcome to Briskoda. Nothing wrong with keeping a car in the familiy. Hang on.. you made her PAY for it!! ;)

Hello. Did you give her a discount?

If the couple have separate bank accounts and incomes, why shouldn't one sell the other a car?

Sorry its been a while getting back, flat out working. The mrs has more money than me, thats y she paid for my old car. I gave her the seeds for three kids for nowt, wot more can a man give? I had my old girl up to 125mph today, any ideas how to get her to go any faster? I have been told to get it "chiped2 by some , and "re maped" by others. Whats the difference? whats the best?

As I said, I see nothing actually wrong with her paying you for a car.

As to tuning a TDi without knackering it, there are 2 routes:-

1) Removable generic interceptor box from Dragon or Tuneit.

2) A custom remap from a reputable source. As to sources, in Annan you're falling between 2 (or 3) stools here:-

a) Awesome in Manchester

B) Star in Dunfermline

c) Bedrock Vw in Motherwell, who actually supply Jabba maps.

Chipping is a bit old hat now; basic turbo tuning is almost all interceptors or remaps.

Thanks for that ken. I have to get the timing belt done asap as its just hit 51K, and don,t want to start to re doing owt b4 thats done. Motherwell is the closest and easiest for me at just under an hour up the road, so i may just get an address an go a run up an see them.
