colour codes

Featured Replies

according to my service schedule my octy is colour code 9885, apparently this is hot chili red and has matching names on other VAG cars with the code lc3l.

Are these codes and colours VAG wide, or is this colour specific to Skoda. and what is the best way of getting a colour match.

My concern is that i could get a touch up that technically is the same colour but isn't, all the codes allow some variation.

Hot Chilli Red was only used on the early Octavias, the latest I recall seeing it on was a W registration, pre face lift. Your profile says 'Cayenne Octavia', this is known as Cayenne Orange and is a totally different colour to Hot Chilli Red.

The same colour should have the same code irrespective of whether it is on a Skoda, VW or Seat. Your best source for touch up paint is a Skoda dealer.

the car is a v plate, the colour issue, for some reason i seem to have two codes floating around. one chili, one cayenne, i am wavering on chili rather than cayenne being the right one.

Will need to check to make sure which it is, this is part of the reason for wondering if the codes apply across the VAG range.

It is easier for me to get touch up from VW, Audi, or Seat dealers they are all much closer than the nearest Skoda dealer. So if i can go to other VAG dealers will be much easier for me.

That is the ordering colour IIRC

The paint code I think for hot chilli is 8H8H

Fot Cayenne it is 7Q7Q

Have a look on the sticker in your boot
