Hello hot felicia am I asking a silly question?

Featured Replies

Hello first time on, would like to ask a question hopefully someone out there will know.

I have a felicia 1.3 W reg, the temp has started going up since the better weather, it usually sits at just above half way up the guage but is going above esp in traffic. Fan is kicking in so I know its not an issue there. I haven't had a car with temp gauge that worked for more than 6 years so it could be I am not used to it. So it may be that I am worrying over nothing. but if not, if it struggles in May what will it do in mid summer? any thoughts? ta

is the thermostat ok??

How can I tell if its not?

If it's under the red line and the fan is working, I can't see a problem.

Welcome to the site :)

Hiya.

Unless the thermostat is stuck closed (top of radiator and top hose to same remain cold regardless of temp guage reading, but be careful when checking, it is possible to burn yourself on the radiator), or the electric fan doesn't cut in, perfectly normal.

Hi,

As Ken says if the fan is cutting in then you should be ok, another silly but simple thing is do you have enought coolant in your Radiator?

Welcome!

Welcome to Briskoda!!!

Check the felicia thread.

My temp gauge stays at halfway and the fan kicks in when it should..

be worried only if water and oil mix or if the fan doesnt kick in.

Mine didn't last year and the engine overheated. Needed a new fan switch and thermostat.
