  1. All sorted thanks to my son Nigel at Troon cars Thurmaston Leicester, quick hook up to a Sealy Vagcom goodbye airbag light.
  2. Heh cheshire cat you been stalking me ? He he !
  3. A salutary tale,or wise in hindsight.Recently l have been experiencing skittish handling at the back,in addition to a sporadic noise emanating from there .On visiting my brother in law in Melton Mowbray we went on a test drive after a very short while we stopped got out and proceeded to look at the rear shock absorbers and the protective plastic sleeves had dropped and we're making the noise just like his did.Left with his drilling 2 holes ,threading some copper wire through and turning away and looping higher up ,fix for later.Driving to Thurmaston along Humberstone lane to my stepson's garage to get my airbag warning light extinguished l drove over some speed bumps carefully then negotiated a raised pedestrian crossing then on exiting the handling went berserk bouncing like hell at the back.l drove on very slowly with all sorts of strange noises to the garage. On quick inspection my stepson directed me to the garage where they have their work done.On arrival the pre-warned boss came out and diagnosed that both rear shockers had gone! On lifting on a 2 leg lift, one had lost fluid and the other looked in a equally sorry state. We were all dismayed that they their poor condition had not been spotted earlier on an Mot especially as one of the springs was replaced on the 2015 test .£160 and 2 hours later sorted ?144000 miles on the clock ,big thanks to the guys at Nas- tech , Highmeres Road Thurmaston .Check yours out guys if any concerns.Cheers Vince
  4. Yes Arminator ,reluctant as I was but the flexing of the plug partially solved the problem .l'm now left wth the airbag light on continuously , but does momentarily go out on start up .Hopefully my stepson will be able to extinguish on his Vag com/VCDS as mentioned by pauldazzle. Thanks very much to all you guys who responded to my plight.Cheers Vince
  5. Went ok except brake fluid went out then came back on when did a test restart ,by the way the seat belt light was the airbag light ,my mistake.l have lost faith in the socket connection after this episode,as l thought that it was a 'sorted' design.ls it a case of Father Time?
  6. Hey!! She's running after giving the green socket/connection a lot of sweat and after many warning lights appearing I'm left with the seat belt and low brake fluid lights on. I'm just off on a quick test run ,not far down our lane.
  7. Thanks pauldazzle,l did voice concern on my chrome dial rings and multi function rectangle post but was assured it was ok to disconnect/ reconnect without battery disconnection.l'll study the two American sites you've guided me to.Brilliant.
  8. Thanks for the info Arminator will disconnect and check it out visually ,cheers.
  9. Arminator l can't see how you can misalign the plugs they are of a very sorted design with the locking tab system that ensures correct connection.
  10. Thanks for replies,ColinD and Tech1e ,l took great care reconnecting the two connectors, although the right hand plug is not easy due to limited loom length.Guss what .its now raining.must be a bad old lad.
  11. Have had to leave windows down and sunroof open as can't shut, but central locking works checking with both keys!
  12. Sorry Ray Luxury -Yacht l had removed the dashboard /instrument binnacle ,on top of this I'm in (discussion)with the eBay seller who sold me the chrome rings without adhesive ,initially saying they clip fit ,no sign of how,no instructions,is now directing me to a Bison adhesive site !Time to ask for a refund me thinks.Rant over!
