Thinking of attempting this tomorrow. Should I use a matt black paint of the Skoda Black Magic metallic paint I've got??

Well mine are matt black.

If I had either of them in I would of used that I don't think it makes much differance.

someone is selling a pair a fabia headlights with the black inserts on ebay for £115

Hi, Im curious as to whether or not HID's (Without projectors) will be ok if the inserts are painted. EG Will they make the paint run assuming the get hotter than your normal bulb ?

FINALLY got around to it, not as tricky as I thought it might be, just took my time and all was well. Shall post photos up soon

doesnt this cause condensation in the lights? due to not being 100% sealeed like factory sealed?

The factory headlamps arent sealed anyway, they have to be vented or the temperature inside would damage the plastic lens.

ahh, this mod might wait, proper worries i crack the lens or something lol

Just in the process of doing mine and noticed I had no metal clips 07 vrs never had the headlamps off??
