My dealer has version 7 DVD is this the latest one and do i need to remove my music and stuff before they update it? They seemed a bit clueless.

Vehicle is Octavia 2010 1.8 Elegance if that matters.

V8 is the latest,and you don't need to leave the DVD in, only for the install.

Does version 7 do postcodes? Does it have Safety camera info?

V8 has not been released by Skoda yet, only VW. Should be soon though.

Take a look at VW Navi forum (http://vwnavi.com/forum.php) as you'll find the latest info on there.

Skoda updates to maps lag behind VW though.

Firmware updates arrive at the same time though as they are part of the same disc (look at My GTI forum for these: http://www.my-gti.com/)
