Sound Insulation

Featured Replies

Yesterday for the first time I opened the bonnet of my 2 week old 1.8 TSI Twindoor Elegance. I was very surprised to see that there was no sound insulation...just metal. Is this normal?

There should be a layer of sound insulation under it. Atleast thats standard with the Diesels.

It might not be necessary on the TSI's. Diesels are often more noisy.

Should be in place. Quite unexpected on West European market.

I beleive that it's only standard on diesels. My previous Octavia TSI did'nt have it either.

Yes, this is normal, mine didn't have it either. You can easily add the insulation yourself for about 40 euro.
