Wale's Fabia VRS!

Featured Replies

Finally got round to detailing the Fabia today. The previous owner had battered the auto car washes so there were fine scratches all over.

Started off with a hose down with the pressure washer. (Not tried snow foam yet)

Dodo Juice - Born to be mild shampoo

Bilt Hamber Clay action with Dodo Born Slippy

Dodo Juice - Supernatural Micro Prime (Awesome stuff!)

Dodo Juice - Purple Haze wax to finish off

Washed wheels with Bilberry Wheel Cleaner and then used Poorboys Wheel Sealant

The car looks a million times better now. Didn't actually take that much time - Probably about 2.5 Hours total.

The 17" Octavia Spiders I bought are currently being refurbed by Rimfurbish in Matt Anthracite so will post some pics when I get these back.

Hopefully soon I'll get hold of a Cupra R splitter and colour coded front grille to replace the chrome one.

  • Pssst.... Anyone wanna see my retrim?

  • Just need to paint the grille a different colour. I see you have been experimenting with that! Maybe just black or might even try to get a spray can made up of the same paint as the wheels....

The spiders look great. Are you changing the colour of them?

Looks goodbut you will need to remove those scratches and swirls with a good polish and a Machine Polisher

OR

By hand with a good hand polishing pad

Is it that noticeable? :-)

Yeah totally agree, got a DAS6 on the way for next weekend so will see how I get on with that. What do you use use for polishing out scratches?

Meh, guessing 2 hours drive. Could you remap the Fab while I'm there? :-)

Cool, what you got in mind?

Genuine carbon fibre possibly :-) The vinyls ok but is a real pain when you get any polish on it

Looks good! What pads / polishes are you going to be using with the DAS6?

Get some iron-x on there too. Will remove all the contaminants before claying :)

Cheers. Is there just one Iron X product then? Someone else had mentioned getting some of this.

So far I've only looked at the Dodo Buff Daddy pads (Red waffle finishing pad, orange polishing pad, microfibre pad) and Poorboys SSR2 and PB Black hole. I've not bought any yet though.

What do you think?

As far as I know it's one product mate. It's just a contaminant remover, I'm wanting to give some a try!

I like the waffle pads, when I eventually get a polisher I'm thinking of using the 3M pads with Megs polishes :)

I just picked up some of the Auto Finesse Iron Out. Works pretty well actually, guess its a bit like snow foam. Looks far more impressive than it actually is!

The Spiders are back from Rimfurbish! They did take 3 weeks but really impressed with the finish. Hopefully will get them wrapped in rubber tomorrow.
