Could somebody recommend.

Featured Replies

Hi I have unfortunately lost my chamois for drying my car off after a wash.

Could somebody recommend me a decent replacement please?

Also do any of you guys use a Nilfisk C110 3-5 pressure washer? I have acquired one from Santa, can anyone recommend me a snow foam attachment you are using for the above pressure washer?

Thanks in advance for any help.

For the snowfoam attachment I would go and visit either "elite car care" or "clean your car" or "autobrite" as they all do their own versions with the attachments for your particular pressure washer. The autobrite HD lance gets good reviews, but in all honesty I couldn't say which is the best.

They'll also have a good range of drying towels.

As for the pressure washer... it's what I would have gone for as have stronger metal internals over the Kracher's.

If you haven't already I would join detailingworld.co.uk as they have a group buy on there at the minute ;)

Check out www.theultimatefinish.co.uk excellent delivery service from these guys. I also use the Nilfisk washer with snow foam lance and purchased the lance from ultimate finish. Happy cleaning.

Cheers chaps some great feedback, thank you!

Disagree with you on the ph neutral snow foam Chris. The valet pro advanced snow foam is apparently better but I find the normal ph neutral foam to have practically no cleaning ability. Magifoam is supposed to be awesome but never used it. I use bilt-hamber auto foam which is decent though the dilution radio's are strong.

ChrisR thanks for the link buddy, just waiting to hear back if the group buy is still on, fingers crossed and I shall order some Magifoam also now as recommended by you Hunty.

Thanks all for your input and links much appreciated.

What sort of music do you get on a `dilution radio` then, Hunty? Hee! Hee! Hee!

Ive used most..I didnt like BH Auto Foam and always come back to VP pH for value and good cleaning ability

Their stronger version is too expensive IMO and little better

My latest is CG No Touch ..good but not 'no touch'

BTW..1" in 1 litre of water is a perfect dilution rate for Snow Foams

I now use my SF lance in conjunction with a spray of VP SF Combo applied with a garden sprayer diluted down to 15:1

Very effective and not much left on for the Dooka Pad and shampoo to remove via TBM

That's the same dilution ratio I used for pH neutral. Just does nothing. I don't know if it is a dodgey 5l I got, but it's just not for me. After researching the bilt-hamber, it needs a little more product in the bottom of the lance. 2" gave me an incredible clean on the Octavia. Bilt-Hamber say that the ideal ratio is 4% at the car. 2" to 1l is probably less than 4% depending on flow rate, so should still be wax safe. Yeah, heard CG no touch was good, the name that was always coming up when I was researching my last snow foam purchase was Magifoam. Just couldn't justify the premium price.

Ooops, replying on my phone again

If you struggle to source a CG Wooly Mamouth then I would highly recommend the following towel:

Slightly cheaper and just as good a product and we personally use both all the time........... :)

If your still using a Chamois then you may well still be using a sponge, if you are then I would look to replace this one of our Wash Pads:

I ran a GB on Briskoda recently, it's now finished but it's highly recommended:

The NIlfisk is a great machine and you will have no problems sourcing the right Snow Foam Lance and attachments as provided to you by ChrisRs........... ;)

Many thanks Baker for your input, yes I have ordered up a snowfoam lance and snowfoam via the link ChrisR provided.

Chemical guys don't have any stock at the mo, u have emailed them but haven't had a reply yet. So I may go with your option.

Don't worry I don't use a sponge lol just a meguiars washing mitt. Quality of this product isn't the vest as the wool falls out quite easily.

Cheers.

Baker 21 once I get paid again I will order one of those dooka wash pads, it looks alot better than the current one I'm using. What size would you recommend for my Fabia??

Gutted I missed the group buy I would have def been on board for that, never mind. Thanks again.

The larger pad is the one that we advise you to use for the main body of the car and if your feeling flush then use a smaller one for the lower sills of the car but this is entirely dependent on how 'drilled' you follow your wash process......... ;)

Just bumping this thread again....

Could anybody recommend a good brush and a product to clean the green moss off my window rubbers.

It's annoying it's only the one side of the car that's parked against the house that suffers from this. Thanks in advance guys.

Pictures of it might help to give the right advice

The reality is that in most cases you don't need a brush to solve this problem but as Chris has pointed out some images may help to judge the amount of moss on the window rubbers.

Simply using a pressure washer and blasting the rubbers will remove this moss, just be careful with the angle you use so that your not jetting water inbetween the window and door.

If this hasn't helped then a good application of some warm water mixed with an APC of some description aggitated with a detailer brush similar to the below may get it all off:

Or the Valet Pro version:

If it's a little more stubborn than that then you may need a stiffer brush:
