Ok so I picked up this last week

IMG-20130207-WA0001_zps4ff8facf.jpg

That picture was taken after a drive from london to the middle of Ireland so its not exactly very clean!!

Plans for the car so far are to change to Irish plates and get it tested. Im going to fully service it and replace the timing belt first as there is a poor service history with the car but it is driving perfect.

I will wait untill the results of the test to see what else it needs in the line of bushings etc.

Future plans are fitting of my pioneer avic f7010bt double din stereo/satnav. I hope to get this fitted tomorrow.

I also have two under seat storage trays to fit. Plus a new gear knob plate to replace the tatty one in it. The wheels are also getting a spruce up.

The next things I plan on doing are oem xenon headlights and maybe some laminx to help protect them.

I also want to fit a center armrest. Im still not sure if I'll get a mk4 golf one, a mk2 fabia one or an armster one off ebay.

I have loads of small things planned such as led interior/number plate bulbs, silver indicator bulbs, reverse cam for my head unit, paint some trim inside, footrest pedal, autodim mirror, flat wipers, respray front grill, new badges, possibly DRLS, cupra r splitter and a good machine polish.

Its not my first vag diesel. I previously owned a vw bora 130tdi and a seat leon fr+

Fitted my pioneer avic today. Easy enough except i had to remove some of the dash to get the wires out of the way.

I hid the antenna for the satnav at the top of the passengers side A piller and the mic for the bluetooth in the roof light. Ipod went into the glove box. Broke the glove box light removing it :wall: and cant figure out what way the little spring was now

Just need to get the skoda logo on it at start up now. Also planning on getting a reverse camera as the function is on the headunit for one.

Next thing to do is remove the stick on trim the previous owner has on it. Its not to my taste but the fitment and quality is very good. Looking on ebay its not cheap stuff either. Why couldnt they have fitted some gloss black instead!!

I really missed the remote stereo controls from my mondeo so I decided to fit one to the fabia....from a mondeo!!

Picked up a stalk and loom from a breakers. I didnt get many pictures of the install..

Sawed off the peice sticking out and rubbed it down smooth with a file. Removed the steering wheel and steering column trim and fitted the stalk with two screws and a 13mm hole in the trim to let the wire pass out.

All back and working

Also fitted mk4 golf blue tint mirrors that I picked up yesterday for 20quid. They came off a mk4 convertable that was crashed with 40k on the clock and parked in a shed for the winter. I would say the heater function was never used on them!! They are like new

I had the same controls in a fiesta , toyed for months and months about trying to fit that stalk! Never got round to it in the end, but good effort

Neat job with the stalk!

Fitted these at the weekend. Full service kit plus timing belt and waterpump. Need to fit two console bushings and a cv boot which are on order to get it tested.

the wheels look very good! quite a big difference between before and after! and great idea with the arm rest i like how it matches the handbrake and gear stick! :)

The finish was wore off the wheels when i got the car for some reason, Hopefully this will bring some life back to them.

I like the armrest and the way it matches the steering, handbrake and gear gatior. Thinking strongly of getting more and doing all the doorcards

You need to make a guide for the stereo stalk!!

I need that in my life :p

Now i think that could look real good! And make a guide so i can do mine ;)

Is yoour stereo compatiable with steering controls? Not all are.

Its very easy. You just need the leather, I got this http://www.ebay.ie/i...984.m1497.l2649 some spray on glue and a hot glue gun and a sharp blade.

The lid pops off the armrest with the aid of a flat screwdriver. Once off spray some glue on the fabric of the armrest and stretch the leather over it. Work it good and tight around the corners. Use the hot glue to glue it where the original cover is stapled in place. When held use the blade to trim nice and tidy. Clip cover back on. Job done!!!

Door cards will be a bit harder but if and when I do it I'll post up a guide

Just finishing off the last two alloys today. Hope to have them back on the car tuesday. Fitted my reverse camera yesterday.

The camera fits in place of one of the number plate lights and is very tidy. It has a built in led for the number plate light.
