Annoying Squeek

Featured Replies

I do hope you lot have an idea of my problem. I have a Fabia Comfort which is great and very quiet to drive however if I go over speed bumps or sleeping policemen I get a really loud squeek at the front on the right hand side. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks

does it sound like someone bouncing on a rusty bed. do you have xenon headlights.

It does sound like a rusty bed when bounced on. Not sure which headlights but the noise only happens when its dry if that's any help.

Get underneath the car with a spray can of WD40.

You will need to spray the Suspension bushes.

These being rubber dry out and start to squeak.

Get someone to gently bounce the car till you hear the squeak, then spray away on those bits.

WD will dry out in time so if the squeak returns consider replacing that bush.

Let us know how you get on.

if you have the headlight washers then its xenon headlights.it happened to mine and what it is is that there is the headlight levelling sensor near the near the wheel arch and he black box(sensor) just goes wrong.mine sounded like a rusty bed being bounced on and if the passenger window was down as i drove most bumps make it give a metallic tapping noise like somethings loose.

cant remember what it sounded like when wet

Thanks I am very lucky as I have a mechanic as a friend who will deal with it but I like to be able to tell him the problem that needs dealing with and this one had me stumped.

Well mechanic friend while listening for another problem heard noise and concluded nothing broken just an annoying squeek so better just to ignore and live with it but if it gets worse or changes its sound to let him know. So I will ignore it for now.
