Mk1 vRS coilovers

Featured Replies

Hi Damian,

I know you have answered this question countless times but, can you give me your best prices for a veriety of coilovers?

Im looking for ones that will survive my daily drive (about 40 mile round trip). But also will offer me some support for the track days and fast road driving.

I dont want to "slam" the car. Just want it a bit lower than current (probably about 50mm lower than standard)

I currently have H&R lowering springs with standard dampners and i find the ride a bit crashy (probably because the car is still on standard dampners that have done 91K) and roll quite alot on the track.

I know this is like looking for the "holy grail" and there wont be any that do both amazingly. however I would like you to recomend me some that are somewhere in the middle. Not spine shatteringly hard and not really soft and crashy.

Many thanks,

ilmor

Afternoon,

Do you have a budget in mind and I'll get some options together?

I dont have a set budget as such. I dont wanna spend silly money on a car thats only worth 4x more than the suspension set up. On the other hand I dont want to buy cheap as you tend to get cheap.

I guess idealy between about £300 and £500 but could push that if you think a certain make/model is particularly good.

I was previously looking at kw's @ about £450 but i notice they have nearly doubled in price over christmas :-/

Any help would be mutch appreciated as i have never had any coilovers before. Also when you do suggest some can you tell me what i also might need to purchase e.g shorter drop links etc...

Many thanks,

ilmor

Afternoon,

For coilovers I'd suggest the AP kit as the best choice for everyday fast road use and the odd track day - http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/ap-coilover-suspension-kitbr-fabia-6y-12-14-14tdi-19sdi-19tdi-rs-19tdi-20-0300-p-5118.html

If you wanted a little more comfort then springs and shocks may be a better option for you and I'd say the Weitec by KW - http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/weitec-by-kw-20mm-ultra-gt-lowering-springs-shocks-suspension-kitbr-fabia-6y-rs-19tdi-0300-p-3223.html

If you wanted to go for either I'd sure we could do something on the prices for you.
