Llandow Track Days

Featured Replies

Just curious about it. It's one of my local ones but don't know anyone who has been. Is it any good? It's about £80 a day but I did see this.

It's supposed to be for clubs and team building and if it's mid week it's £1200. It's presumably like how Jason does Castle Combe where he divides the cost but the number of people. Could be an option in the future.

It's a fun circuit, depends I guess on cones, but I remember it as quite a tight circuit. Lacks long open straights, but depending on how the circuit is coned down the back. Top section near paddock is the tightest.

But imho more cornering is good, if you like cornering, and lets face it, anyone can drive quick in a straight line... Does not take long to learn, but some corners are speed sensitive ;)

Incidentally, Pembrey is not far and is a cracking circuit, although far, far faster overall.

I did think about it for a meet years ago, but mid week, could be hard to get numbers to it.

I do want to try Pembrey too as that really is on my doorstep but it's always quite secretive and finding info about it is quite hard. There's no decent website last time I looked. It's more cornering I wanted to learn better lines. I'm off next week so I'll try and visit both to see what they offer.

All i've ever heard about Llandow is that it's tight, twisty and very abrasive so your tyres get wrecked very quickly, but i've never been there so don't have any first hand experience.

My mother said this but it's been years since she went last. Was before I was born lol. Did hear it had been resurfaced but if it's tight and twisty I wouldn't be surprised if it's harder on tyres.

We used to go to llandow in the escort cossie converted to rwd. You were aloud slicks when we last went about 5 years ago. Made a massive difference to the escort.

Would be up for a day in the skoda there. Circuit very hard on brakes due to the bus stop after the pits.

We need to book this! I can sort tuition for the day too, I've been meaning to do something for ages about Llandow, even if you get only 10 people that's £120 each for exclusive track access for a whole day!

I destroyed a set of front tyres at Llandow, was a nice little circuit but didn't really suit the fabia's tendency to understeer! Fun though!

It's definitely worth thinking about. Lap is only around a minute long so is a short track. I'd like to find more info out Pembrey but on the BARC website it's all bikes. Unless that's all that's booked in at the moment.

I would be interested but its definitely a tyre killer :D

Even in the wet I scrubbed a load off my tyres - I might consider it a good spot to finish off my track rubber. I have a good video of me having a good play with an Integra Type R that day.

I reckon my tyres have one more track day in them but probably wouldn't last until the end of Summer. Apparently Pembrey now has the same tarmac as Silverstone. Supposed to give plenty of grip but not sure about wear. I could probably rotate my tyres to get a bit more out of them.

Doh double post

Pembrey definitely does do car track days Martyn, give them a call :)
