How to configure Amundsen+ to silence audio when reversing (not the warning beeps

Featured Replies

Having taken delivery of the new beastie at the weekend I'm busy working my way through configuration that the Amundsen+ & SE+ offers.

Our phones synced up with bluetooth perfectly (we didn't have that previously) and I've managed to carry over the various settings from the old SE.

However there is one thing that I can not work out. On the old beastie we had a Columbus ICE and when we selected reverse we got a loud beep and what ever audio source was active at the time was silenced whilst we carefully reversed awaiting the rear parking sensor beep, beep, beeps. On the new SM I can change the volume and tone of the 'loud beep' but the audio doesn't automatically silence. I looked on the Assistants / PDC menu but couldn't see anything there.

Is it possible (if so how?)

Thanks for anticipated help

Hope this helps.

Pah! Instruction books, just the manufacturers "opinion" on how things work. :-)

I have the Amundsen+ in my Rapid and it does silence the audio when reversing. Do you have parking sensors on your Yeti?

Hi Frozboz,

Just tried this on my own Amundsen+ and discovered the item "PDW vol. reductn." does not appear in the Volume menu? The volume of the radio is reduced when reverse is engaged and the volume is about 10 or above but it is not silenced. Interesting that RapidRonnie's is silenced. Could it be a dealer or VCDS thing? Maybe "PDW vol. reductn." needs front sensors. What does PDW stand for anyway?

Don't know what I did but "PDW vol. reductn." now appears in the Volume menu. I did try it with ignition on and reverse engaged but with ignition off and in neutral it's still there. There is a choice of 4 settings. Mine was set at medium.

After the car has stood with ignition off for a while (don't know how long) "PDW vol. reductn." disappears from the menu as does speed dependent volume. They are restored as soon as the ignition is turned on. No need to engage reverse.
