Featured Replies

Swmbo rang tonight from work saying the car not sounding right so hopped into workvan and took off to investigate. Innersidewall on front nearside was hugely bulging so spare fitted. Ivgot proof of purchase and theyre not half worn yet.... Chance of replacement? Where do i stand here folks?

pothole damage

no chance of replacement from pirelli

Shouldnt be hard mate, more pothole than road around here at the moment!

I had the exact same problem. Pzero's all round when I first got the car, then noticed a bulge on the front driver side. Mine weren't even half worn either

Budgets ftw!

/\ ermmm no

Michelin

Thats all I have to say.

I have also had the exact same problem :-/ when I took it back to the garage they said that because of two marks on the tyre that I must have hit a pot hole and therefor have to pay for replacement.

Budgets ftw!

Lol iv only ever used part worns :giggle:

Bulges are typically pothole or rock/stone damage from driving through or over them. The lower the sidewall of the tyre the worse the chance of the tyre. The weight of modern cars doesn't help.

Best option would be a tougher sidewalled tyre with some form of tyre warranty... Though those will probably negate or reduce pothole damage.

J.

I have p zero's on mine, think there a great tyre

Get Extra Load tyres. = Meatier sidewall.

Got XL PS3s on the Audi and XL Yokohamas on the Van.

They're not invincible but you stand a better chance with them.

Falken ZE914 XL tyres excelent and unbelieavably grippy in the wet.

My mum's last car had those on from the factory (56 plate Mazda 2) -terrible tyres -she had 3 or 4 of them blow out in the side wall -caused by potholes or curbing. The worst instance was when she was on the A12 and was overtaken by one of her own tyres that had separated.

***Edited typo -dyslexia rules KO***

Make sure that you get the wheel checked properly when the tyre is replaced.

my first car had a similar problem it hit a tree and all the wing bent in .... obviously wasnt my fault it was a build quality issue the tree shouldve been uprooted before the wing bent ....

Are you sure it was a build quality issue with the car and not the tree being in the wrong place?

Stuck two p zeros on the front so matching, they had a deal so all up just over 200. Would have gone to black circles but need em for the weekend. I would never put budget tyres on anything more than a 1.2nova!! Lol

pirellis are awesome and stick like **** to fir just avoid pot holes kerbs etc.... anything that may damage them

I personally wouldn't put budget tyres on a pram :D
