Unsure on the Oct MKIII - but i'd check with Damo and Simbo - who have nice replacements on the Superb's

I have done it, it is not easy but not hard.

You need to remove the black plate underneath the bulb, these easily pop off using the small L shaped metal tool in the boot.

Once off you need to remove bulbs but before this each bulb has a small plastic clip that pushes over the back of the bulb this pulls off, the bulb can then be twisted off like normal

I found two of the bulbs very tight and destroyed my arms removing them.

Once I got the standard bulbs out I was ready to put the LED bulbs in.

From ready on the forum I got H18 18 LED bulbs x 4 ( cost of £17 a pair)

When I compared my new bulbs to these one of the retaining lugs was to big and had to be trimmed with some pliers, pretty easy to do and very tight fitting after.

The car needed to be coded with vcds which I did first following the instructions in the sticky thread.

They do look a million times better, I am sure someone will begin to moan about "yellow light is better than white for fog blah blah blah" But I don't care and it does look a million times better. I had corner fogs enabled before I got the LEDs and disabled it because it looked horrible with the yellow light of the fogs.

Below is the car with the LEd fogs

Think I will be doing this to the new one when it turns up - LED fogs, interior bulbs, puddle lights and number plate lights

I turned my fogs on for the first time to look at them, and they are soo dim compared to the headlights, and soo yellow. Lucky I'll probably only use them twice in the life of the car.

Fogs are meant to be yellow, no?

Just thinking of the same upgrade path on my Elegance. Too bad I discovered that standard mirrors have no puddle lights.

So they're working as intended then.

I'm waiting for my bulbs to arrive. Ordered from LEDperf for fitting to my Elegance including puddle lights which mine has. Next will be to source Fog light bulbs when I figure out which type is needed.

I'd be interested in knowing the size of the LED bulbs, for the different applications. Since my Octy hasn't puddle lights, I was also pondering to add one to three leds under each mirror.

Thanks for sharing!

Slightly off track but can you replace the DRL's and rear plate lights with LEDs and not suffer from error codes? Cheers

Must put some pics up, I went completely the other way, and tinted my fogs dark smoke. Although I want to go darker.

So these fit without any mods?

Yes!

VIN pointed out that in my O3 vRS bulb in the fog lights are H16.

They have other plugins? How to buy the right one?

I put this leds in my ocu vrs foglights, no need coded anything and no errorlights...

I'm thinking of buying something similar.

I have a few questions about:

1. What about the fade out effect when (after) cornering? The same or the leds just switch off immediately/flicker before swithcing off/or fade out nicely/any negative experience...?

2. What about the startup flickering (when the car checks for failed bulbs)...?

3. Luminance? They say it is around 600 lm is it brighter than the stock bulb or equal?

4. Are they more bluish than the factory fitted xenon/LED DRL or more or less the same Kelvin?

There is 6000-6500 K on the datasheet and I think the stock xenon/LED DRL is less than 6000, maybe around 5000.

Thanks in advance.

Just had a rather intresting chat with the man at HIDS Direct and I've ordered these to replace my OEM foglight bulbs

H8 Cosmic Blue Foglight bulbs

Later there come errorlights...needed to be coded!

Thanks for the info. Coding won't be a problem.

What are your experiences about the other things: fading effect (as cornering lights), luminance, color temperature?

And there is pic of that leds, the car in pic not my..post-101653-0-89162800-1411389921_thumb.jpgpost-101653-0-39169600-1411390200_thumb.jpg

Forget them as cornering lights - they are nearly useless.

I've coded mine as additional driving lights running at 18% brightness, looks the part and sets off the front end when the headlights are on.

The will need to be coded from halogen to LED though - love that the MQB coding platform is so flexible :-)
