  1. Hi all, I am looking on selling my Superb over the next month and I want to get the rear door locks working before I do! they haven't worked for some time and its not really been a problem as they can be locked and unlocked from the inside. Basically on the fob or the drivers door control panel neither of the back doors lock or unlock. I have checked the fuses and they appear find. I have also checked the wiring looms going into each rear door and there are no breaks. I initially had a water ingress problem which I repaired about 2 years ago, a few months later the locks stopped working. As there is no noise coming from either motor I suspect this could be a wiring problem? where else can I check for breaks? when I had a look at the loom going into the pillar there are two plugs, is the top one for the door lock mechanism? if so can I check for voltage there? Thanks in advance
  2. Has anyone been unfortunate enough the snap the dipstick tube? Well I have ! Snapped halfway down earlier. Does anyone know how to remove the rest?
  3. Hi all, I have a crack in my rad and need to replace it over the weekend. Has anyone done this before and is it a complex task? Ideally i am looking for a guide or some guidance on where to do it. I found a guide for the bumper removal which is pretty straight forward. One last question - how much coolant do i need to top it up? I have 5lt of G12, is that enough? Many thanks
  4. Evening all, My outside air temp sensor has failed. It's currently reading -1 degrees which although it wasn't a warm day today isn't right! Does anyone know the location of it and the part number? Assuming it's an easy swop? Thanks
  5. for your boot not opening from the exterior check the lock on the boot, there is an external lock to the right of the handle. there are 3 settings, locked unlocked and open. check its on unlocked
  6. thanks Danny, Earth seems ok. Where is the starter relay located?
  7. Hi all, I have an intermittent fault with my superb 1.9tdi. Sometimes when I attempt to start it I get nothing. I put the key in the ignition, turn it once get all lights on the dash radio etc. Then I turn it again to start and I will get one click? sometimes it can take a retry once but this morning took me about 15 turns before it went. Seems really bizarre? The battery is brand new so I know that's ok, there are no faults on VCDS. Any thoughts?
  8. I had the exact same problem before I sorted the water problems. It was resolved when I redid all the interior wiring though. I would suggest it could be the control unit under the seat part number 3b1 959 760
  9. Hi all, So I have been having intermittent problems with the starting of my superb. Sometimes it starts fine sometimes it's dead! When I say dead I mean all lights and radio are fine however when I turn the key I get nothing, the car try's to turn and nothing. I get no clicking from the starter at all. I can however jump from another car or booster pack fine? I did a parasitic test on the battery and after removing the interior lights fuse I was only pulling 0.14a which to me is fine? Would you think the problem is to do with the starter? The battery was tested at halfords and they said it was ok. I am concerned I am getting no clicking when trying to turn over Thanks
  10. Apologies for late reply. So, tried the above and still have the problem. I have no water in the car at all... Any ideas?
  11. Hi. Can anyone tell me where the starter motor is located I cannot see it anywhere !
  12. Hi all, Bizarre one really and scratching my head a little! When it rains my battery is dead when I come to start it. I have done the pollen filter seal, ecu seal and all door seals. The inside of the car is bone dry and no water present When the car won't start I don't get the usual ticking when a battery is dead the car just won't start. If I jump it off another car it starts straight away doesn't struggle at all. If I then turn the car straight off and then start it again it starts straight away - makes me think the battery isn't dead? I have checked the voltage, battery is over 12 and just over 14 when car is running so the alternator is fine. Is there a solenoid or something else electrical that I could be missing? Under the battery is clear, no gunk and the water drains ok. Any help would be appreciated. Like I say I am stumped! Cheers
