7 years of fun with the Karoq the end has come
Well today it departed and I have mixed feelings after having the car since 2018. Since having one of the first Octavias in the UK in 1996 I have been a Skoda fanboy. But today I have jumped ship to Hyundai and an Ioniq 5 EV ultimat with tech pack so get an interesting top down view and lots of bells and whistles. My Skoda is on the way to Kent for a temporary loan and after that will find it's way onto the second hand market. KK18MFU If you see it to buy it's a good one and bar a little rough on startup in cold weather it's been very good to drive and has served me well. I hope it finds a good second home and now to find the Hyundai version of Briskoda. Lot's to learn and get set up. I have enjoyed my time watching and learning from the forum. Thanks to everyone who has helped me understand things that I never knew. Cheers...

Not sure what you mean? 🤔

Extortionate fees at Skoda dealership
Hyundai Ioniq 5 new version extended range. My wife loves her Kona and we need something slightly larger for holidays. The fast charging and features of the Ioniq 5 hits all the tick lists. I did test drive and Enyaq but the dealership experience was awful. I don't necessarily think Hyundai dealers will be better but the car was good and time for me to reduce the petrol bill. Last weekend we took 77 kWh off the grid to be paid 77p for doing so. Agile tariff. But this is really for another thread. Good luck to the OP in getting it sorted...

Extortionate fees at Skoda dealership
Yep since owning one of the first Octavias into the country from 1996 I have been a Skoda fan boy and only bought Skoda. The lads in the office were making fun of me back then as they couldn't get past the badge. Now my new car arrives in the new year and it's not a Skoda. The Karoq has been pretty good and I have had no serious complaints but the Brand and dealership base are not what it used to be. VWG are in serious trouble and China is going to bury them if they can't up their game. So I hope the OP can get the right ECU on his car to mitigate the problem. Good luck...

ECU version 9752 is the last I got, but no way to check. 2019 so I am guessing you should have the "fix" and you now have a feature? If it is too much you can try a declare car not fit for purpose depending on how long you have owned it. The thread above is one that I found with a quick search there well could be others. My car has been ok with it and while not 100% smooth certainly acceptable. It will be sold in new year when I transition to an EV...

Extortionate fees at Skoda dealership
Hi from distant memory when Skoda UK helpline was based in Sheffield they would tell you what version you should be on. There was a version update yonks ago mine is a 2018 car so I think with a 2021you should be on the latest version. I would suggest you web chat Skoda UK in the hope they can tell you what the latest versions are for your car. I would keep it friendly and neutral and just ask what the latest versions are. Good luck.

Digital Service Record and Extended Scope Service
I have the words "Additional Inspection Scope" against the section Additional Work Carried Out. I kicked up a fuss a year ago in August - I think I put a bit on the forum about dealers just not doing the work. In 2022 I have the words "additional Inspection Scope" again in the Additional work carried out section. So I am guessing it should maybe there for you?

Karoq LED headlights cracks led to water condensation
Just been to a dealer today for a problem with my wing mirrors and they did an inspection (sales opportunity) of the car and flagged my cracked headlights to up sell me new ones. As I have had a warranty since buying it I asked if it's a warranty job. Answer no. I didn't have life shine on car. I think its just poor quality plastic. I have read the warranty document linked above and it's not mentioned as covered so likely isn't but great if folk got it resolved under warranty. Water damage is specifically excluded from warranty which is likely the issue with my wing mirrors but they worked when the technician checked them despite not working for me when I needed them a few weeks ago!!! So a wasted trip for me...

Passenger/nearside wing mirror fault checked loom and wires and all OK
Useful topic thanks. My wing mirrors are not adjusting and this could be the fault. As I have warranty I am hoping that will cover the work. Thanks for the photo very helpful.

Pollen Filter can only be replaced as part of a Major Service?
Extended Scope. I can't be arsed trying to remember exactly how they describe them one is slightly different from the other but not much, so forgive me saying Major, tis just my way of saying the more detailed service. So Pollen filter can only be done on extended scope if that's the correct current term... Unless anyone asks a relevant question that's me finished on this. I posted it to make folk aware, if they can be arsed to check when their Pollen filter is due... A 1st world problem that even if missed for a year isn't the end of the world.. 😉

Pollen Filter can only be replaced as part of a Major Service?
Quick update. Pollen filter replaced today for £40 at the cost charged to Skoda brand MK. It would appear Skoda have changed the software so for an All In One policy you can only have the pollen filter replaced on the major service. That is despite if the service schedule states it should be done sooner. Poor software? Poor implementation? Without seeing the software who knows. Ultimately poor management. The fact that Skoda brand has paid for it says they have messed up and I hope they tweak the software to allow for the filter to be changed when scheduled. I also got a rather impressive Hamper as a gesture of goodwill which mitigated my annoyance of having to drive 30 minutes each way to the dealer. Case closed for me but again my trust in Skoda management and processes damaged.

You have misunderstood. The pollen filter is due now. It was not done as the dealer has said that the Skoda computer system they use wouldn't allow them to do it. It is very clear it is due to be done and the dealer is refusing to do it. The latest statement from the dealer to customer service is a joke. That conversation never happened and I shouldn't have to point out the defence is utterly wrong as I have an All In One policy where I pay a monthly fee to get that work done as per the service schedule Skoda lays out on their web site. I am not going to renew my all in one policy if I can after the end of it. I will be selling the car at some stage. Skoda is clearly losing the plot with the Customer service team who really don't understand the issue and just getting paid for doing nothing other than winding up customers.

Pollen Filter can only be replaced as part of a Major Service?
You gotta love Skoda Customer service... A response to my complaint that the pollen filter was not undertaken as part of the service. Arbury have fabricated a discussion that Never took place... To be continued.... Thank you for your recent email regarding the All-In Service Plan you hold with our Financial Services. I appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and I understand how confusing this situation must be. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have received a response from Arbury Škoda, advising us that you declined to pay the additional £43.00 fee for the pollen filter replacement. According to the Service and Maintenance Schedule, the cost is £220.00 for the Oil and Inspection service, with an additional £43.00 for the pollen filter replacement. As you did not agree to this additional fee, the pollen filter was not replaced. I hope this clarifies why the pollen filter was not included in your recent service. Your understanding and patience in this matter are greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you for contacting Škoda Customer Services. I look forward to hearing from you soon. May you have a wonderful day.

Sorry I don't understand the question? The dealer is saying they can't add it to the job and only allowed to do at the next service in a years time.
