  1. Sorry all, and thanks for the replys and offers, i found the sliding clips, i had put them away and boom just like that i remembered where i had put them.. thanks again..
  2. I know this is a really old post but does anyone know where i can get the retaining slide clips that hold the cap in place its a mk1 Fabia btw..
  3. well guys i dropped my car into a back street mechanic, big deal for me as Skoda have always serviced and repaired my fabia, but they royally phucked up my engine and i lost complete faith in them even tho they replaced my 8 yr old engine with a spanking new one, the rig ma role i went thru was unreal, hence my decision, any how apart from the leak i had a broken wishbone and she was due for a service, so i made the decision to use a back street mec that was recommended by a couple of people, turns out it was a great decision, i got a full service, wishbone replaced, new thermostat housing, he had the car for 6hrs rang me to collect her, all tol he billed me 235 euros, which is 200 Sterling, not bad me thinks for the work carried out! happy daze! thanks for the heads up on what was wrong ap0gee.
  4. thanks guys, that was a great help, will get on to Jorily tomo and sort it out, thanks again!
  5. hey all just looking for some advice, seems i sprung a coolant leak and i couldnt find it after trying all the usual things like a torn hose or a loose fitting hose, so i got underneath and took the bellypan off, still couldnt track down the leak,, now i can hear you all say head to a garage and bite the bullet, but i had a really bad experience at my main dealers last year and it was a coolant leak also but it was more hassle than i care to remember,, so for my own sake i wanna be a little bit pre paired going in this time around,, seems i found the source of the leak, it has really gotten worse over the last week so it was easier to spot, i took the engine cover off and i found quite a leak running from what i assumed is the waterpump, i have post the pics below, seems the coolant is leaking from the hole in the second pic, is that the waterpump? and is it just a replacment needed, any and all help would be greatfully appreciated,
  6. just had the same problem with epc warning light, it just came on today and now the missus is barking again about the car, oh well it looks like another trip to the dealers!

  9. i ruined 2 wheels buckled both and blew both tyres, passenger side, not nice,, i wont be out in the snow again for a bit,,lol
  10. Point taken and it seems i will have to go futher and have it re checked, cant have my kids in a car im not sure is road worthy, thanks for all the advice guys, the only reason i used quick fit was that my local dealers here really really screwed up my car last year, its a long story that i already posted here but they destroyed the engine and had to put a new one in, now i dont have a mechanic as such, i used to get all my work done by my skoda dealer! now i dont trust em, shame too coz i had a FSH from them up to last year.
  11. ok guys im gonna give it a go but im a little scared about snapping the door panel retaining clips, are they easy to get off? and more importantly are they easy to get back on?
  12. i got away lightly guys, local quick fit popped it up on the lift while i was standing there, checked it out, no damage just needed wheel aligning and tracking and balance sorted, cost me 40 yo yos,
  13. hey all, while playing my stereo loudly in my 2000 fabia 1.4 the rattle and vibration that comes from the speaker housing on the doors becomes unbearable it seems like everywhere on the door is rattling, ive cleared the pockets of stuff, lighters pens nuts bolts spare fuses etc etc, and its still there, the sad part is i love my musik and i end up having to drop the sounds down to stop the noise, any suggestions?
