  1. #171 sold :'( to another lady driver in Wisbech, so I'll still be seeing it
  2. finished my glass of wine, I think tiny pics are now attached. (thanks Skoda Saint, i was wondering about photo bucket but then need to remember my details as not used that since I had my CB500 - maybe 6yrs ago!)
  3. ok, I have photos, posting says they are 'too large to load' here and I give up trying...... Anyone want pics, get in touch and I will hopefully have figured out by then how to make the files smaller!
  4. I have made the tough decision to sell my cherished, standard and unmodified VRS SE No.171 with 113,700 on the clock. I'm the second owner of the car (purchased at 2,800 & 8months old), MOT'ed a month ago, FSH and reams of history. I have had it professionally valeted ready for sale. The car has the normal marks and stones chips of an 8yr old car. All usual refinements of the SE - blue, leather seats with number embossed, cruise control, air conditioning and 6 cd changer plus Parrot Bluetooth kit, an extra cigarette lighter point, private plate ending VRS plus a spare set of four 15" mk4 golf alloy wheels & winter tyres fitted, with approx 15k wear. As you know I have a lovely new Octavia bought for family reasons and cannot drive the Fabia, the Octavia and ride my motorbike 'at the same time', so something has to go..... £4250 ovno Contact Theresa 07747005094 if you have any questions. I intent to load pictures in the next 24hrs. Car is located near March, Cambridgeshire.
  5. I have been to a public weigh bridge (@ our local dump) where my (spec of) car is actually 1540kg. This was with approx 1/3 tank of fuel, me (62kg), a group 1 car seat, group 0 car seat plus DD2 (so this should equate to DH weight)Remember I also have pano roof, extra air bags and full size spare wheel. Car empty of all other junk I usually carry around with me
  6. Lots of ground work since last post and I have been in contact with a local westfalia installer, who is also on the westfalia website along with PF Jones. £630 all in fitted with all the car specific electrics, installed on my drive in 2-3hrs. I think this is the way forward but wanted to make sure that there will be no difference with the functionality against skoda dealer fit. Can anyone confirm? I also wondered if the towbar itself would fit in my spare wheel holder? Do you know? Wrt the weight, I have been to a public weigh bridge (@ our local dump) where my (spec of) car is actually 1540kg. This was with approx 1/3 tank of fuel, me (62kg), a group 1 car seat, group 0 car seat plus DD2 (so this equates to DH weight) and with less fuel, is very much a worse case. Remember I also have pano roof, extra air bags and full size spare wheel adding to car empty weight. I removed of all other junk I usually carry around with me ....I think we can achieve the size caravan we hoped for.
  7. Miz, sounds like these are questions I need to ask dealers and independent installers (I didn't get to that job on Friday) - I shall not assume anyone is going to do exactly what I have in my mind without checking first, kinda why I posted .... Anything else I should ask? A 4-6berth caravan (target is 4/5yrs old, currently looking at layouts and weights so early next year we can actively look for second hand that will fit the short list we have created). We believe every other weekend (mainly sunny weekends?) I suppose April to end of Sept.
  8. They are a mobile company, covering Cambridge/Peterborough for sure and will come out to my home. Obviously not sure where in Nofolk you are, but they may cover you as well with a local rep. I really want some feedback on are they a good company to go with or are there other companies people can recommend.
  9. Exactly the same. We had no idea a year ago when we ordered the car that we maybe 'caravaners' in the future, but weekend commitments of DH have changed and we think with 2 little ones we could have a load of fun and get to see more of the UK. Having said that, only towbar prep was available then and we need more than that for a caravan. Have you had your local dealers quote? What are they coming in with? I plan to call United towbar said to discuss their qoute, if I can today.
  10. I am in the market for a towbar now, shocked at 2 local dealers charges (£780 need car 2days & £875 need car 1day) compared with other dealers noted on other posts but I have seen this company mentioned and on receiving their quote today, feel they are realistic (£530 need car on my drive, 3hrs-is 3hrs realistic??) http://www.unitedtowbars.co.uk/ Has anyone used them? Good/bad? Any other independent fitters you can recommend for Cambridgeshire/Norfolk boarder area? Many thanks
  11. You've beaten me to posting on a similar title! Let's see what response we get to help us out......
  12. I locked main key in boot after opening boot only & not doing usual of key in pocket (2 crying, raining, needed to get pushchair back into boot as just done loan dealer car exchange). Thought all was well as dealer has just also reprogrammed spare key - zapped & nothing happened! I had to use spare as 'key' to enter car drivers door, while alarm going off, climb over the rear seats & pushchair (so lucky I didn't pull the cover over!) & rescue key. That wasn't stressful, will never lock key in boot again.....
