Low remote battery at 2.97 V ?
Mine came up as a warning, key fob battery low, as they came in 2's I just replaced both key fob batteries. What we are talking, the cost of a pint?

Speed limit warning
How did we manage to drive safely before all of these warnings now flag up for us, there is a thing called a speedometer👍

Thank you for this^^ My latest episode since my last post, SOS warning on again then it took out the Skoda navigation and my phone connection to the infortainment screen. Only thing that worked was the radio. It's never done that before, just the SOS fault showing most times. All back now working, of course that was switching off the car and next day starting up for my next journey. I still think it's something interfering with signals to the car as you drive past certain places although software updates I've not had since I've owned the car, a possibility. I like it in a sort of way to my shed alarm, yes I know, a £10 buy from the DIY shop, but... That was working fine, or not working, not alarming until they stuck up a new telephone mast about 200 metres from my house. The alarm randomly setting, I thought I'd got mice in there moving around, searched the shed, nothing, put a new battery in, it still alarmed. Then someone suggested wrapping kitchen foil around the alarm, like a shield, it worked, no more triggers, it was the phone mast that triggered the alarm.

I'd certainly go with his first theory, the signal getting interrupted by communication masts etc

Thanks I'll try that. Do you know what the going rate/average is for a Skoda dealers diagnostic? I know from past experience, many years ago, first thing they say is, book it in for a check first. Some folk are happy to take their cars to a dealer, understand that with warranty and all that or they just can't work on cars. Me I can't think of a worse thing to do than book in to a dealer for work to be done, that's me though, bad experiences in the past, I guess most of us have been there with cars in the past. Local garage, who are pretty clued up on most mechanical stuff as you'd hope say, take it to Skoda as you probably end up there on our advice anyway.

I might have to bite the bullet and go in the dealership I've got my Mazda in for a recall next week, ok it's not an electrical fault/gremlin but a safety issue, fuel pipe. That's 11 years old this year, so my Kamiq and many, many other VAG vehicles will be suffering with this SOS bug/fault, mine was just over 3 years when it started to fault. Is that a safety issue in itself, for your safety it's installed i believe on most motors now for that reason. I suppose the costs involved to replace the modules will deem it not that big a problem to Skoda, unless of course owners are willing to pay replace it or at least pay to diagnose the problem

I might have to bite the bullet and go in the dealership, I do all my own servicing.

Back on this again, boring as it is. Yesterday going past a fire station, a different one this time, SOS triggers. Hmm that's a coincidence, not really. Also this has triggered again, this time when I approached temporary traffic lights, another coincidence, not. I can definitely say, something at or near those locations triggers my SOS module. The fire station with their communication systems yes I can understand, temp traffic lights, of which there are plenty around us, yes it does seem to go off 3 or 4 times now when I've approached them. Interesting, bloody annoying, piece of tech.

Help - EPC LIGHT
Sounds like the same problem I had with my SEAT with stop/start. Loss of power (limp mode) dash lights on, notably traction control, EPC, engine management check light etc. Codes read at home brought a throttle position sensor at fault, garage said to they found the same fault. Long story shortened, it was a failing battery, new one fitted sorted it.

Viewing a used Kamiq SE L Exec 2022 40,505 Miles - £15,975 - what to look out for?
That's a personal choice about the Kamiq having a lack of space. Yes the boot area isn't/wasn't no where near as spacious as my Toledo or it's Rapid equivalent hatchback. The rear seats can accommodate (for me 3 sizeable teenagers) on shorter journeys ok, plenty of room for two adults though in there. Only the two of us (retired) and it's easily accommodated our weekly shopping, tip runs, even picking up flat pack wardrobes from IKEA, rear seats down. Mines a 1lr SE-L love it does everything I need, even fits in the garage if I so wish.

Engine oil smells like petrol
I get a whiff of fuel now and again, I think you'll find in these cold conditions it's the auto choke working overtime. Incidentally I got a smell the other day starting up, it's really cold here and I thought I could smell paraffin as I'd fetched some in a sealed container from the shop a couple of days previously. It wasn't that, just the engine warming up on choke, I have no leaks etc. BTW it's only a very faint smell soon dissipates, my Mazda smells a little too on auto choke when started in the garage. I wouldn't worry at all, carry on driving.

Reversing camera retrofit
Mines a 2020 Kamiq SE L and I fitted an AliExpress reverse camera. Integrated into the hatch handle make sure you get the correct one, the shapes differ slightly in what they offer. About £30 ISH a couple of years ago, still working as it should.

Kamiq Engine Oil Dipstick
It's a pretty simple process, you can see where there's oil on the dipstick or not. Now regarding check on a warm or cold engine, I always check when the engine is cold. You're then checking the level of oil that has settled back to the sump. I've always done this whatever the advice in the manual on every car, never, ever had any engine troubles.
