  1. The steering on our new 1.2 tsi se Roomster is certainly heavier than it was on any Octavia, Yeti, Fabia and Citigo we've previously owned, but I like it that way as it also has more feel than any of the others.
  2. Thanks, tin0 and saurabhdutt. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Pse can you tell me (as dealer couldn't!): does the Black edition have lowered suspension, leather steering wheel, aircon, electric windows and mirrors? Thank you in anticipation.
  4. I have found that every time I talk to a vehicle salesman in Skoda or VW, I know a LOT more than they ever do just through my reading of fora and reviews on the Internet. They seem either to have very little training or very little memory (brain?) power?! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. Quite a surprise. You were such a serious fan of the Citigo sport. Your input flow will be much missed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. The cheap "sports suspension" option could not include multilink at rear - far too pricey. When I had a Mk2 I had HR sports springs and Bilstein B8 dampers fitted. It transformed a boat into a car with fantastic ride and handling. The lower and firmer the better for spirited driving. However this option hammers you on insurance premium and raises warranty doubts. Just order the cheap factory upgrade. It must be better than stock. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. Two informative replies. My dealer assured me that only 3rd party extended warranties were available unless bought when car was new (including the extended warranties they had to sell). My loss of confidence in my Octavia was also due to having had to have both the aircon and satnav replaced in its 3rd year and just as the warranty was about to expire. 8. I researched the most popular 3rd party warranties. They all include a small print exclusion referring to not covering an item that the manufacturer should reasonably have attended to prior to buying their warranty. I decided that I wasn't willing to risk such a warranty. Skoda UK won't sell you an extended warranty in your 3rd year of ownership. Only option for the non-risk-taker is to sell the car. I've just sold a brilliant 1.8tsi Octavia just as it's factory warranty was expiring, because of this issue. Sad, but happy with the replacement - a 1-year old low mileage Audi A4 Avant with 2.0 diesel engine. Audi UK sold me an extended 5 year warranty - no nonsense about having to buy it when new as Skoda say. Cost me £2000 less than a new 2014 Octavia Estate 2.0 diesel Elegance would have. So Skoda's extended warranty refusal plus refusal to issue a generic recall on this potentially disastrous fault have lost them a customer who had been with them for 14 years and 5 new car purchases from them in that time. I won't go back to Skoda - too many new Octavia owners having serious problems in the Mark III forum. The A4 is in a different league from the Octavia in both refinement and build quality. My firm opinion is that brand success has caused a complacency and subtle creep into declining build quality in Skoda. Maybe I'm wrong, but all good things come to an end. 9. Damo, for a Sport, will any scissor jack do, or must it be VW? What's special about the Vw one? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. IMO it would be too much investment in a cheap car. Suspension and handling is already very good. I did it to my mkii Octavia and of course it made a world of difference. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Our Citigo is 60ps, 0-62 14.4 secs. It feels slow - seconds make a big difference to feel. All the reviews say that the two varieties of the Citigo engine perform the same until you tech very high revs, but the specs contradict that totally? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. I'm surprised to hear this comment; I had that tsi 1.2 in a Yeti and it's a fantastic and powerful engine. I love the Citigo, except for its slow, slow inability to accelerate with any torquey feeling at all!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Re. all the noises: the courtesy SE 4 door I had for a day was a lot quieter than my Sport; esp the wheel arch noise; I guessed that extra doors gave some damping? However I conclude that all of them are noisy little bu**ers! This makes you think they must be trash - but then they all drive SO well! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. It's a dreadful noise. Never heard it on any other car - even cheaper cars. I wonder if I've got chips that can rust after six months? Does the £75 include fitting and is it for a pair? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Your lovely terrier prefers this one! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
