  1. Ok been thinking about starting this thread for ages finally sat down to do it. My superb doesnt have mdi previous owner was using a parrot kit for the ipod instead.... neway ive been using the sd card for music and doing what i thort was the correct thing and having one large folder with all my music in with subfolders inside that. I then also have 1 single song outside this so that i can play this and select mix so that the columbus mixes between folders. However everytime the ignition is turned on it defaults back to the single song which me and better half have now heard 50 trillion times. When i skip.track the columbus usually cycles.though the first couple of folders for ages rather than mixing thoughout. At the time im sure this was the best the columbus cud do.from research here. Im noticing alot more people recently saying that they use the sd for music and i cant see everyone putting up with it as i have it so whats the secret that i havnt discovered. Im REASONABLY tech savvy but its letting the car down massivly so gotta fix it. Many many thanks for reading
  2. I to would be very interested to hear what people.who.have used it what they have to say. Particularly diesels
  3. Thats horrific ud imagine there wud be a much better use for it. Am i the only one who wudda paid gd money for some of the key parts..... wheels for example. Or better yet sell as a complete car. Training shud be done on less valuable metal surely
  4. Ive always found the car to be a bit quieter in tick over with premium and i probably use it 40% of the time the problem for me being that i work at sainsburuy so have to pass our own station without premium 10 times a week. I also use half a bottol of redex every other tank or so. I think i can notice the difference in performance but even if thats debatable id bet alot of money on the fact that both our cars are quieter on premium
  5. As i said in another similar thread recently peugeot 308sw 7 independent seats that can all he removed when needed. Hdi 110 engine is smooth refined and economical. My sister runs the sport model and its lovely a real do anything car that almost no1 knows has 7 seats and doesnt look mumsey at all. Externally ots an estate so parking is ok yet is huge inside. I ran a 308 hatchback for 3 years and it was faultless also. Usually overlooked like i aay as almost no1 knows about the 7 seats. Anyone that is negative about them has clearly never owned driven or even been in one. I dont go for comments such as my old saxo from a million years ago was crap flimsy etc etc therefore a new peugeot will be rubbish.
  6. Peugeot 308sw 5 independent seats or 7 if u get that specification. I would assume the new model would keep this arrangement. Yes i know french but were onto grand picassos now....
  7. Ive not overlyvresearched similar but its not a desirable interior colour or gd choice with wood trim and its not the newer shape (2 shapes newer now i believe) all of which will impact over a black interior with nicer colour trim
  8. Regardless of the cheapest bmws and audis not seeming premium to some due to a lack of equipment or tiny trims or naff alloys in 10 years they will still drive well and feel like they will last another 10 years without trouble. The renaults etc will be fit for the bin and although the engine mite still be ok but the interior will be shabby and the controls very worn. Ok as a newer purchase but ud be much better off owning a 5 year plus (premium) car if thats ur age bracket
  9. In defence of mercedes we have 24 sprinters at work and past few weeks have been getting this years facelift models as old reach 150,000 both models are nice to drive and the new ones have premium feel and controls over transits etc and more soundproofing. The brand dna and value do translate a bit all across a range
  10. 100 percent even selecting diesel makes me a PETROL head....
  11. 207 or new shape citroen c3. Ud be amazed gow well built and reliable they are these days.had both as second cars a 1.4 petrol and a 1.4hdi. Both great in their own way but the diesel used no fuel at all and was 30 to tax. Lots of equipment on both. 1.4 petrol was gutless in 8valve form but again cheap on fuel. Avoid base models and they are nice places to be
  12. Im fairly sure i bought the 5ko one and believe its a seat part. Works fine in my superb but didnt have an aerial socket so it uses the phone aeriel instead
  13. 3 from what i can gather. Mine is 4 years old naturally and skoda extended warranty seems to exclude paintwork
  14. Any1 ever manage to get rid of this other than a complete change thru warranty?
  15. Thanks for replys. bit of an update. So having played around a bit and gone as far as unbolting the armrest it seems impossible to get access to the sliding mechanism to see whats going on. if u think of the cupholders as a cassette then the circular bar that attaches to the mechanism has snapped. As said above u can buy the cassette seperatly and ill have to hope that the new one will b held in when inserted into the mechanism.
  16. Ok seem to b stumbling from 1 car disaster to another atm. So my neice jumped in the back of the superb when the armrest was down and the cupholders were out. She then sat on the cupholders and snapped them off. They push back in to the slot but when u push them out they fall out. Has anyone ever replaced the cartridge that they live in. i would assume that a whole new leather armrest wud be 3 trillion pounds? Thanks
  17. Scene of crime attended and took hand and footprints and are running them thru system atm they seem confident of a match
  18. cant recomend repairer enough. Ashford accident. Whole new roof all new roof struts new head airbags new lining and soundproofing. Bonnet and roof painted better than factory and huge amount of other panels sprayed also in order to blend in perfectly. Bonnet came with new chrome and badge also. 4.5k job
  19. Lol thanks thats what happens when u have a courtesy car for a month.
  20. My superb was recently vandalised to within an inch of its life. New roof, bonnet and 2 new complete mirrors later its bk and looks lovely. The mirrors fold in and out fine and they adjust electrically but they didnt demist with the rear windscreen this morning. Im 99 percent that they shud demist at same time as the rear screen. Any ideas? Fuse, connectors? Reset them sumhow? Many thanks
  21. What Was the outcome? I also have this light illuminated but it isn't affecting performance so far even though the manual says it will. 170cr
  22. The columbus defo. Potentially best factory unit only but totally totally ruined by lack of random track play. The single song outside folder workaround is a pain and the unit still doesnt shuffle properly. End up listening to the top few folders all the time. Lack of wiper solved with rainex. Dont like that when i stall have to turn ignition off 2 restart, makes 2 second mistake into a 5 sec frenzy. Still ace car that makes every journey feel special
