  1. BJM - you are truly a master of the culinary arts! I applaud your recipe but will raise you by adding a fried egg.
  2. Must have been more interesting cleaning it off afterwards, trying to avoid scratches and such.
  3. Congratulations! Nice to know there are some winners on the 'Insurance Lottery'!!!
  4. Aww, poor lamb! I do hope the chain (and rear axle) made a full recovery. As for the oik......
  5. Hi Love 2 know. Welcome to the site. You will find lots of help in the Octavia section of the forum. Best to to have a look in there as the welcome section is not the best place for a technical query!! Hope you get it sorted soon!
  6. Ahhh, 'loopy juice', that explains all!! Why was everything covered in sand? Someone else mentioned that also.
  7. Agreed. They say locks only keep honest people out.
  8. Technically it IS possible, but getting a side-on shot as it goes over the edge of a cliff may prove a tad tricky!
  9. It's in a stream? No wonder it's free.
  10. Why should yours be any different?!
  11. I would need retraining after that length of time off!!
  12. Slider pins sticking usually accounts for one pad wearing faster than the other on the same hub. If the pads are heavily worn at the edges then it sounds like the discs are worn in the middle leaving a ridge at the edge and centre of the disc. Very seriously, it goes without saying that brakes are important, so if you can't fathom out the problem yourself you really need to get them checked out at a reputable garage, as it's not only your safety that is at stake but that of those around you.
  13. The owners manual wallet states that Skoda recommends Castrol Edge Professional. My dealer, however, recommends whatever he has loads of in his stock room. In this case Shell Helix, which is good stuff also. Whatever oil you get so long as it meets the VW 502 00 specification requirements then it is good to use.
  14. No, it is the red light in the middle of the speedo. I'm not actually sure if the the ones on the LCD are part of the warning system, they just change state when a belt is plugged in. She says that it can start with the warning sound when she is driving. Not sure how it works with Skodas, but I know in my Mondeo that if you set off without fastening your belt it starts nagging you, then when you plug your belt in it shuts up. After that you can unplug your belt and it doesn't warn you at all, but based on my wife's observations it monitors all the time.
  15. I've rumaged around under there in a general sort of way (don't ask me to define that!!) but all seems fine. I've even tried setting the seat in her position and sitting in and out of the car but the test was inconclusive as I can not sit in the car at the settings she uses!! I can see the future and it looks like a skoda dealer. The car is only a few weeks old so it may just be a connector that is a bit dodgy and it wants hitting with a warranty stick. As I said in my first post, it has never done it to me.
  16. Well Scribbler, I always had you down for being rather eloquent but I have to confess I don't get the last bit of your statement!! Must be the weather!
